I traded for an 18. The one quirk to the frame extension that I forget is that when it's extended, it's NOT a handle suitable for lifting the pack. I'm used to Kifaru Duplex, MR NICE that you can lift from the top, I may come up with a way to strap/buckle to lock it in place, that'd be a great...
He was carrying sleep system, (sleeping bag and ground pad) clothes, (it was July, he had rain gear and layers, shoes for wading) water, small first aid kit, knife, .410 & .22 shells, spinning rod & small box of spinners/flies/bubbles, and a scoped 10/22... I'd call his total weight around 25...
Have you tried this bag on a NICE or Guide Light frame? I've got the NICE frame with OVI load lifters, I have it in my head that it will work. Truthfully, I need another bag like I need another head hole, but I like the idea of the 22 mag from my own use of a Marauder (big panel loader) and...
Here's a few pictures of my 10 year old with a Western Edge Gear pack frame, a Kifaru Molle Express bag (no stays or suspension, just the 2,400 cubic inch bag), a Mountain Ridge Gear Cody pack (similar to a Kifaru E&E, it's the Orange one), a Kifaru Grab It, and a Ruger 1022. He really seemed...
I ask for and provide Phone, email, and mail address. My post count is low here, don't recall buying anything here, but have bought, sold, and posted a lot on kifaruforums.net with the same username.
I usually freeze them as roasts, less surface area to freezer burn. Steaks, kebabs, fajitas, etc. I am not a fan of grinding those, just because. Jerky's always a possibility, but, I usually do that with goose or other stuff that I like less than elk/venison.
I also broke a gear in my...
Just wanted to share my (son's) experience with this. I'm a long time Kifaru, Mountainsmith, and Mystery Ranch user. I ran upon this here on Rokslide. It's basically a Duplex Frame for kids. I've got a 9 year old son, and I'm a Cub Scout leader, and this frame has pretty much changed...
Nobody's mentioned ambient temperature. If it stayed 50F or below, it's fine for a week..
Getting it broken down and away from the guts is first priority, that will help it all to cool down faster. Lots of variables besides temp to consider, proximity to water, what's going to help eat it...
+1 to this. By points naturally, the advice I've gotten is: close your eyes, pick up the pistol, keep your finger on the trigger guard or frame, (not the trigger, but this doesn't relate to fit, just good habbit) point it like you're going to fire, and open your eyes. If you're naturally...
I've got a pair of Hoffman Mountaineers that work great with MSR Denalis with or without tails. I've dabbled with touring skis/skins with Fritschi Diamir bindings with heel lifts for climbing. Can climb pretty steep stuff in those, but turning with skins going slow is another story altogether.
Sad. What about OR01....OR27? There's some more RE WARD rovin' 'round out there, boys! I've got a Jerky Boys skit fomenting in my head, callin' state police and asking about how many re wards are still left, and how many they think I could get if I hunt real hard. (I'm totally kidding btw...)
i just pulled the trigger on a puffy with zip off sleeves, I've been a slow adopter, and had been running soft shells and wanted to lighten up. This puffy has zip off sleeves, the first anything I can recall since the Kifaru Pack Loc stuff to have that. Had been looking at Patagonia, but, the...
If he doesn't get back to you....
I'll take it. Per my txt, I'll see you tomorrow, if he pings you before then, no big deal, and if you wish to give him more time, can do next week or whenever, just calling dibs for 2nds, not urgent, but do need it. My guardian is squirting more water on me...
You might give Eric Lynn at Mountain Ridge Gear a shout. He's a great guy and is very familiar with Kifaru. Quite a few others on this forum will speak highly of Eric as well.
Mountain Ridge Gear
If he can't, he could possibly steer you to someone who could.
I haven't used mine on a bike, but used it 2 weeks ago with my ZXR and Scout, and with the 1022, it could totally be cinched up to work on a bike. I have a MolleExpress, attaching to the side of that is easy, I am not sure about there being enough PALS to do it on the side of the Spike Camp...
Thanks for sharing everyone. I just downloaded this about a week ago, free trial, and I think about $10 for a state specific, I just have gotten through the trial, and haven't paid for it yet, but will, probably later today. Can't claim to have wrung it out yet or saved particular maps on my...
