Is this based on your personal experience or what you've read of forums? I'm not trying to be a smart A but looking first hand data, hearsay. I have five Leupold 5HDs and no problems to date, been using Leupold for 30 plus years, have not let me down. I'm not saying there aren't better...
I've owned 6.5s in the following cartridges, 260 Rem, 6.5 CM, 6.5-06 (wildcat), 6.5x55 and 264 Win mag. I gave up on all of them before the CM came around, it was much easier to just use my 270 Win. Then the CM circus hit town and got lots of attention from target and competition shooters as...
I have two 7mm Rem mags, one of which has been my go-to for 20 years, I'm very found of the cartridge. That said, the 7mm PRC looks to be about perfect. In my opinion, better for big critters like elk at longer ranges and easier to shoot than the 300 Win Mag and better BC with comparable...
Ammo is everything in this case, I use Buffalo Bore Outdoorsman in my Glock 10mm. Ammo for self defense is not what you are looking for, you need penetration.
I know what you mean, I hunted Canada year ago, temp never above 8 degrees, hunted Monday-Friday all day, shot my deer on Friday at 1:00 PM. I've had good and very frustrating experiences over the years, I'm thankful the few times it comes together early in the hunt.
A bit more on the story, been traveling back, two days by car, so I've been busy catching up. Hunted extended family farm in NE Kansas, about 350 acres but lots of land adjoining that our farmer manages. Over three days hunting, didn't hear another shot. Hunted with FIL and his adult grandson...
What's the original chambering, you mentioned 350 Rem Mag (had one, love it) so barrel #1 chambering would need to be a mag as well unless you have an interchangeable bolt face.
They post a lot on FB, they have a pretty high profile, I'm sure they don't want to let anyone down. Put them in the position to say no! I really do think they can help.
A 270 Win = a 6.5 PRC out to 500 yards, then the high BC bullet of the 6.5 has an advantage. If you like the 6.5 PRC then the 270 will do (I have two). Separately, the 7mm Rem Mag is hard to beat, I have two and really like them, great performance and manageable recoil. Available and...
