So I get a phone call this evening before I get home around 6pm with my wife telling me she left the freezer open. Time frame was from noon 11/24 till this evening around 6pm. It warmed up enough to dethaw everything and for blood/juice to pool in the bottom. My estimate is the meat warmed up...
I really don’t need another magnum, I need a mountain rifle. Something light and easy to carry. I’m too cheap to just go buy a Kimber Hunter in a 280ack and begin searching for ammo without selling something. The more I think about it the more I should just keep it.
I didn't have any shoulder pain as Coop mentioned but I'm sure if I packed out my deer a few more miles it could've been there. 50-60 pounds wasnt a problem. Concise review on his part and i largely agree. I like the simplicity of the pack, less pockets, you can slim it down quickly.
One thing I noticed for myself is that my resting heartrate is around the mid 40s at night here in central texas (1600ft) but when I went up to 11000 feet my resting wouldnt go below 80 bpm.
I’ve got a RMEF edition Weatherby Vanguard with Nikon Monarch M5 4-16x42mm scope. Included are 94 rounds of ammo for it. I’ve shot 6 rounds through it and rifle has not been afield.
trades: lightweight bolt action, fieldcraft, kimber hunter, etc. AKs, CZ scorpion, steyr aug. open to many things.
Excellent point, except I live in South Texas. Since you live there how about you be more helpful and do some scouting for me so you can contribute to the this thread instead assuming I'm taking shortcuts.👍
