Salt and alum. If soaked to long had light hair slippage. If throughly worked they turned out great.
This ones on the books for the fall… multi day backpack squirrel hunt and creek fishing trip in the western sierras, living on bushy tails and brook trout for a few days. Fires will be banned either gonna pack breading and oil or find some new recipes to cook them in pot.
Budget style… wrangler atg pants, sew in a U shaped pocket. Slide in two layers of one of your wife’s old yoga mats with double sided Velcro facing out to hold them together and in place.
I think mines 3 oz. it’s not as loud as a cell phone ringing. But if your camping close to animals it’s a very unnatural sound if there’s no wind cover.
Ive got the flextail gear one…. It survived a barrage of summer camping and fall hunts. The only downside I can spot is that it’s a noisy little bugger.
