Yes. I have a Tikka with a barrel that shot well in in a bedded AG but opened up significantly when I swapped it to a Rokstok. Went from 1.1 MOA for 10 to 1.6 MOA for 10. Swapped the lug for a Lumley and did an ugly but functional bedding job. Subsequent group was 1.05MOA. Yes, the recoil lug... -

You may have to shim the bottom metal out from the stock to get reliable feeding and mag retention. I had to with my Rokstok and an Alterra on another Tikka. You can use washers, but these are better: https://highdesertrifleworks.com/products/tikka-t3-shim-kit -

The gutless method. Why aren't you doing it if you have to pack out?
It's fairly easy to make a vertical incision just behind the last rib after quartering to relieve pressure and get the tenderloins out. Just enough to let the stomach spill out and create a void to work in. I cringe whenever someone rips out the primary tenderloin muscle doing gutless.- finner

Just got mine in the mail today. Looks and feels great, hopefully it makes this 7prc a little more shootable. The fit is pretty tight around the barrel. I ordered a sendero contour for an Ace #3. Should I think about sanding this out for better clearance? It's dead cat up until a couple inches... -
M5 bottom metal options - help me out
Have you tried the MDT polymer mags in the Hawkins? That seems like it would be a good combo but it's unclear whether they fit in a short action. -

I'm looking for a replacement bottom metal for a SA Origin 6.5cm build that will eventually live in a Rokstok. Does anyone have any strong opinions on the various options out there? So far I've looked at Hawkins, MDT, UM, and Atlasworx. They're all roughly around the same price point. Any input... -

Mine will be here tomorrow. Ordered 8am MST 12/22, plain carbon Tikka with rail, Sendero profile. Not sure why Fedex thinks it's necessary to send it to Memphis when I live less than 3 hours from UM, but I guess I can handle an extra couple days of waiting... -
ELD-X is it unreliable for close range hunting (less than 200 yards) and should it only be used for long range?
I had a negative experience with a 143 ELD-X in 2019. 75 yard broadside shot on a muley buck, bullet entered right behind the shoulder. He dropped and died immediately, but the jacket separated from the core and carved up a significant portion of the onside backstrap. It was a pretty shocking...- finner
