    I have never dropped my pack while hunting unless of course when sitting etc. Have no problem shooting with a pack on, but the pack I carry is not capable of packing meat with the exception of a boned out antelope. I use the Badlands Diablo and it carries everything that I need.

    Clamp the rifle in a gun vise, loosen the set screw on the tool, set it on the barrel in front of the scope and snug the larger "v" on the objective bell of the scope, tighten the set screw.     Had a co-worker that had issues with Flickers on his log sided home, he did exactly that and painted it a light yellow/tan color and no more bird issues.

    I'd also be checking for insect infestation. The birds are usually there for a reason. Now when they are rattling away at a metal light pole or tin vent that is to tell everybody else that they are there and that is their territory.

    I'd mark the 3 cases with a sharpie, but otherwise wouldn't worry too much. If you cut half the length of the neck off, may have issues, but should be fine. Only really run into issues if the case is too long and not allowing the neck to release the bullet due to it being jammed.

    Might find a boutique company that loads Hammers, but don't know of any offhand. Did you try cleaning real good to bare metal and then retry the factory loads you have at hand?

    Think the reasoning behind the cleaning between jacketed and monos is due to jacketed bullets will compress to a degree to accomodate the rifling and the monos do not, the copper has to flow. I would definitely try cleaning thoroughly. One of those should shoot good in your rifle.
