How close do the bulls follow the cows in early September?

Perfect scenario for the Advertising Sequence, that bull would have snuck right to you as long as you had a solid setup with wind & cover! It's my money tactic for this time of year! If he doesn't show within 10 minutes (because he's still there & maybe slowly moving your way) I'd go to a...

    Calving areas

Jaq couldn't be more spot on! Plus calving areas in most areas are not remote hard to get to places. They follow the snowline in many areas come June but most those areas are very accessible. Cover ground & use your Glass in open country & your bugle in timbered country. It's not rocket...

    Need floor tile setting advice

To date I've never seen a single crack in all my years. If you do this it is generally pouring it over concrete that has existing cracks. The fiber mesh I mentioned between the original concrete & the pour will eliminate this. I've poured self leveling mud on both OSB & Concrete substrates for...

    Need floor tile setting advice

Ahh, you need to do as Bubblehide mentions & remove the metal edging. Assuming you are removing or laying over existing tiles you then will need to pour self leveling mud to perfectly flatten out the rest of the floor to the existing tile on the floor, assuming you want to tile everything with...

    Need floor tile setting advice

Level the floor. You'd have to have some small tiles that would mold to that slope like you'd use on a shower floor! Too, use a fiberglass mesh on the slab before tiling. If considering larger tiles you'll need to level/flatten floor to accommodate their size! ElkNut

What did you do today to get ready for Elk season?

I work out year around & it does pay off! Went out on a cow hunt with others for 3 days & covered aprox 10-11 miles total, not tired one bit & could have doubled it in serious elk terrain! Guess I'm as ready as usual. Bring it on! (grin) ElkNut

Cow Bugles Are Alive & Working!

My daughter In-law has a MZ cow tag on an OTC unit. My Son & I went out to see if we could muster up any elk to hunt. We were striking out as usual on these hunts! No better place to be though! (grin) After a couple hiking hours in a rarely hunted unit with zero interest & lots of cow calling...

So…what have you old timers done with the grandkids lately?

100%, I've already hunted with the two boys quite a bit. The girl could care less! Our oldest is 23 & youngest 16, it's the girl. When I think of grandkids I'm thinking under 12. ElkNut

So…what have you old timers done with the grandkids lately?

Thanks but nope, not a chance! Been this way my whole life, I doubt I'll be changing. My wife of 47 years says you do not like any kids but your own, she's right! On the other foot Brenda my wife is great with them. For me it's like fingernails on a chalkboard! (grin) ElkNut

So…what have you old timers done with the grandkids lately?

You guys are great! I'm not that kind of grandpa, I honestly don't like being around kids, they drive me nuts! I don't know why but it's true! Once they get to hunting age then I do better. ElkNut
