I have the Zephyr's and love them. The current pair I've had for at least 5 years and have put ton's of miles on them. I'm sure these would fit the bill perfectly!.
I have 2 that I've shot for years. 1st is an Ithaca/SKB 600 in 20ga that I've had for at least 20 years and the 2nd is a Benelli Ethos in 28ga. Both are fantastic guns and interchangeable.
This year I used the Sitka Incinerator Glove/Mitts and they kept my hands very warm. Temps were in the mid teens for lows and low 30's for highs. I wouldn't have any qualms about wearing them in lower temps.
I'm going back and forth myself on this. If I take my 6.5PRC I'll be shooting 156gr EOL's. I'm having a 2nd 6.5PRC rebarreled into a 7mmPRC and I may take that instead. My elk hunt isn't until 2024 so I have a good bit of time to settle on a gun to take. Worst case I just take my 300WM.
I have the Celsius Midi also and really like it. I have been looking at the Ambient jacket lately and am starting to think I would be duplicating things since I have the Midi already.
I love my Millennium 2 man ladder stand. I have the cover that goes with it also. Big enough to have access to all my gear and get comfortable for an all day sit.
Shoot the ammo through a chrono, I usually do at least 9 rounds, and then run the average fps through a ballistic app to get your numbers. As others have said don't trust box numbers.
I'm shooting a 300 WM and have gone through a couple of different rounds. So far my rifle likes the 180gr Trophy Bonded Tip the best. Easily shoots .25" groups at 100 and .5" to .625" groups at 200.
I have a 2.5x10x42 with a MOAR MOA reticle on my LMT .308 AR and for that rifle it works. I wouldn't use it on any of my other rifles though. I really like the NX8 4x32. Covers all I need for my other rifles.
I like having the extra room so I either go with a 1.5 man stand or a double. I like the Hawk stands and Millenium stands. I look at tit like this. The more comfortable I am the longer I can sit and sit still being quiet as possible.
So many ways you can go and none would be wrong. I've shot 7mm08, .308 300WM and 6.5 PRC for deer. At this point I'm sticking with my 6.5PRC. Who knows though that could change. So there is really no right or wrong answer. It's all personal preference.
I have the GB Scandinavian Forest Axe and love it. However, if I'm packing something in I usually bring my Woodsman's Pal. Works as well as most any hatchet I've used and to me it's more versatile.
Went back to the range today with both 165gr and 180gr Trophy Bonded Tip ammo from Federal. When comparing the ballistics out to a 1000 they are almost identical except for energy of course. My rifle likes them both. At 100 they shoot into the same POI. Groups are right around .3" for both. I...
