Thanks! appreciate the info. I definitely think saving 10oz is worth it. The X-Curve would probably be more comfortable packing out quarters...but that sucks no matter..lol
The X-Curve is 10oz heavier then the Krux Evo frame. I understand it is about "what fits best," but those that have used both, is the X-Curve really worth an extra 10oz of weight? That is a lot for a multi day elk hunt...not to mention using it as a day pack when doing double digit miles everyday.
I have a $1,000 Utah charge on my card. Fingers crossed its for this tag. Still only 1 non-resident tag a season for archery?
Looks like success rates have been climbing since the fire. Anyone hunt it 2020?
Thanks!
Out of curiosity, since I just sold my backup...other then only shooting when you have something in front of you and not practicing a ton at base camp...what is the danger level or accuracy issues when doing this?
Shot 70# bows for 20 years..always maxed. Ordered an Elite Kure this season with the 65# limbs and while I can without a doubt still draw 72 just fine...I only lose about 8 fps and at 66lbs it feels like I am shooting a kids bow it is so damn easy and smooth to draw.
Still shoots a 520g arrow...
The Kure is certainly a pretty awesome drawing bow with tech to accomplish almost perfect arrow flight. When I shoot it, I definitely can feel the lack of nock travel and the balance with the new cable arrangement. It just shoots clean.
I made the switch to an SX3 this year. I bought a used aluminum one first and loved it. Since I am primarily a hunter, will be back far in the elk woods, and was worried about losing it, I purchased a second one and elected to try out the heavy metal version. They are super easy to re-sell if...
I made the change this year to a 65lbs bow after shooting 70lbs maxed for 20 years. The speed difference is negligible and it feels like a cake walk to shoot.
Thanks, me too! It says they are scheduled to arrive May 7th. They have not charged my CC yet, but I am holding out hope they will do the right thing. I wasn't being deceitful or anything. I saw them, thought it was a good deal and clicked buy.
If I get them and like them, I am going to...
I deleted my post because I went back in and the price changed. I would really hope SIG is obligated to honor the price and still ship me mine. I got the order confirmation and everything. I would be disappointed if they didn't honor it.
What are your thoughts on the 9x vs 11x B2 for Western Elk searching glass? Would be paired with a spotter or 18x Kaibabs. Carried in a chest harness, but probably used on a tripod 75% of the time.
I know you get what you pay for...in dollars and weight. I am however having a hard time wading through Bino options. First, I am not willing to pay $2K for binos and I am looking for the best performance to weight ratio for a set of 12X50s.
I know Vortex has their critics, but the Razor HDs...
My fear would be that while hunting elk in dark timber, you can't time the shot correctly on a moving elk. They move through shooting lanes extremely quickly and being able to command shoot if needed, seems important to me...but I am sure many are successful with it. Just comfort level I...
Got my Heavy Metal SX3 setup this weekend and did some shooting. The Stan's are pretty easy to setup and get consistency in feel between two of the same release. I don't know if the Heavy Metal versus Aluminum improves my shooting in real world results, but it does seem smoother on release...
I like a 3-pin slider for a hunting bow. If it was just a target bow, one pin for sure.
I really like my Montana Black Gold.
The key to accuracy with a mulit pin slider is to get your bottom pin (floater) as close to the middle of site housing as reasonable and pick the correct site tape.
