My Month Fostering an Orphaned Fawn - Lessons for Whitetail Hunting

I've known quite a few wildlife rehabilitators over the years, and as such nothing happening in this thread is surprising me. :ROFLMAO:

What do you do with your venison?

Man the instant pot is legit. It's pretty much identical in texture to using a crockpot just 1/5, or less, of the time. If you have all day it's definitely worth it to over braise since the dry heat tends to give a little caramalization to meats but for quick roasts or shredded meat the...

    2020 Whitetail Trail Camera Pictures

Mine is some janky chinese cheapo and the manual says the delay is time between detection and the shutter. I thought it was a little weird too... it was set to 5 seconds. I tested it and i was able to walk out of the frame every time before it took the shot. I moved it to a different spot...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Man I used to hang out at at a ghost hunting forum back when I was younger...I would do the same thing. Middle of the night freaked the F out reading all these true (-ish?) ghost stories, and looking at pics of orbs. I wish I could remember the site...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

My first camping trip ever, Providence Canyon in GA. On the 7 mile trail, we were camped pretty much at the halfway point. My buddy and I went to get water (from a little pond called the Glory Hole at that) and we saw this guy with no backpack carrying nothing but a shovel, a full ass shovel...

    2020 Whitetail Trail Camera Pictures

Camera was still there...with 39 pictures of nothing on it. I had my delay set to 5 seconds, I think whatever was tripping it moved out of the frame before the shot. I'm a trail cam noob... haha

Ultra Light compact chair for public land hunting

Ah yeah, we do have a few snakes here haha A sit drag is another option for super lightweight if there are trees around you can tether off to and basically use from the ground as a saddle. Works pretty well and lets you move super quiet to shoot around the tree. For folding chairs I got...

Ultra Light compact chair for public land hunting

My go to is one of those foam stadium seat pads from wally world. I think they are like $5.00. I can sit all day on one of those leading against my pack and they weigh next to nothing.

RS members who just buy and sell

If the buyer/seller doesn't have very many posts I tend to do a "background check" I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to be here for the classifieds if you are legit but I do appreciate real contributors more. Although some might not consider my posts much of a contribution... lol

    Thoughts on the NRA

It makes perfect sense that an article related to the NRA and hunting would be posted on a hunting forum after the NY AG decides to go after. You can look at the OPs other posts and if he is a troll then he has been biding his time making it seem like he's a hunter on here just waiting for his...

    Thoughts on the NRA

I am a member because my local range requires it, I believe the NRA to be a mostly corrupt organization that has done some good but has also held us back in my ways. I believe they have far too much invested in the fight to ever want to win it. Part of me thinks that the existance of the NRA as...

Do you still bring a paper map and compass?

I carry a compass... I supposed it would be useful to me if I needed to break it open and drink the water out of it... lol
