    Mine is some janky chinese cheapo and the manual says the delay is time between detection and the shutter. I thought it was a little weird too... it was set to 5 seconds. I tested it and i was able to walk out of the frame every time before it took the shot. I moved it to a different spot...

    Camera was still there...with 39 pictures of nothing on it. I had my delay set to 5 seconds, I think whatever was tripping it moved out of the frame before the shot. I'm a trail cam noob... haha

    My go to is one of those foam stadium seat pads from wally world. I think they are like $5.00. I can sit all day on one of those leading against my pack and they weigh next to nothing.
