I punched the pin out, but just enough to remove the lever (left part of it in the trigger gaurd). I was worried that since it is a rolled pin I wouldn't be able to get it back in
used a dremel cut off wheel and a tabletop belt sander.
Badger DBM came in. I think I've solved the two concerns I originally had when I was going back and forth between dbm and bdl.
1. I shortened the release lever. I can still grab it pretty easy with my thumb, but it isn't sticking down super far anymore. Took off 3/8"+/-.
2. The 3 round MDT...
~$800,
I also added
M16 Extractor
Dual ejectors
40x handle (chad suggested this as the cam surface on the original handle wasn't even close to lining up with the surface on the receiver)
Time/Tig service
Tac bolt knob

it was $400 for receiver w/ bolt. I'm pretty sure he's totally out of bolts at this point, not sure if he has any receivers left.
I had a bunch of additional work on top of the basic...
range report
Factory 108 eldm
shots 1-2, zero at 25 yards
shots 3-7 zero at 100 (b/c i'm an idiot and forgot how to read a Mil reticle...)
shots 8-10 confirm zero at 100. Adjusted .1 mil to the left.
1/2 MOA all day gun! ...
seriously though, this is rokslide. 10 shot group below. Shots...
Idk just a gut reaction I suppose. Ammo has been fairly easy to find. It’ll be plenty for the whitetails and pigs around here. Any major out of state hunt I do will be with a bow. And I have an excuse in a couple years to build something bigger…
Rings won't be here till next week. So... I pulled it all apart to paint the stock. Still needs a coat of clear coat over the top, but I wanted to see what it looked like.
Got the call from Alamo Precision that it was finished and picked it up today. Rings have been ordered, hopefully I'll have a chance this or next weekend to take it to the range and get it sighted in.
8lbs even as it sits. Should put it at 9.5lbs with scope. I could have saved that pound...
no pics yet unfortunately, but the barrel was getting chambered last week.
100 rounds of hornady 108 eldm on it's way.
nxs 2.5-10x42 mil-r on it's way as well.
only item left to order is rings, but waiting to have it all in hand first so i can figure out what height to get.
finally got my dryad lbx in this week. only a couple shots and needs fine tuned, but I like them so far.
xl 45@28 on a 17" riser. Currently 4 turns out on a wf19 with a 7.5" brace height. Gives me 53@30. With the bolts turned in and a lower brace height they are more noodlely than the das...
love the bike. Here is my r80 that has been an ongoing project. Lots of upgrades still sitting in the garage and a second project bike half started, but with two little kids they don't get worked on much.
I also enjoy making my own gear and there are build posts here on rokslide.
I believe they are at minimum, but would call lancaster to confirm.
if they are in fact rated at minimum settings going with 45lb limbs are probably the closest to what you want (approximately +2lb for 15"riser, -4lb for draw length gets you 43lbs at minimum settings)
if you are ordering new...
Dropped the parts off at Alamo precision today. Getting a 20” brux 1:7.5 twist barrel in 6 creed. Went with a Remington varmint contour as it filled the stock the best and a heavy spiral flute to get some weight out.
I had initially been planning on going with a tikka build as well. I likely still will for whatever the next rifle is.
I've wanted an LRI rifle for a long time. I'm really impressed with chad and the work they put out, but a full build is just out of my price range. With the extra upgrades I...
I snagged a model 7 action from chad at LRI to build a general purpose gun for pigs and whitetails here in Texas and Oklahoma. In the end, the action came out to be about the same cost as buying a bighorn origin. I figured this would be a fun first build and something fairly unique.
LRI...
