Being that the 76 yarder was mine (actually 90 yards but diagonally). I have no doubt that deer was dead on her feet when I hit it a second time. I wonder if the heart shot led to some of the distance and lack of blood since it wasn't pumping to drop the blood pressure?
I was actually...
160lb south Texas buck. Management deer off a friends low fence property. 130 yard shot. Black hills 77 tmk. 22” tikka. Ran 50 yards and piled up.
No exit. Centered a rib going in. Little bit of damage to the opposite side. But didn’t find any of the bullet.
100 lb doe. 124 yards. She ran...
124 yards. Factory 108 eldm. 140lb sow. Clipped the front of the scapula. No exit. Entrance is that spot of blood on the shoulder Already had a cooler full of venison so I only took the hams and backstraps. no autopsy pics.
Dropped right there, expired within 10s
Just got my tikka 223 set up and sited in today. Also took my 6cm and put ten more through it for funsies.
My little local range was a disaster. All 20 lanes full. Had a guy next to me in the same table pumping 308 out of a braked ar-10 and constantly shaking the table. Pretty good shooting I’d...
Ready to get it sighted in this weekend and I should have some animals down in 4 8 weeks.
Vertical grip, 150 rounds of black hill tmk, UM rings, and a mil nxs 2.5-10. Rokstock pending.
22.4”
I think the specs are the same as the veils. This appears to be a cabelas specific unit as it has their camo pattern on it but without the texture the veils have (I think they have more texture at least). Contour is bigger than the lite, just large enough to fit 5/8ths threads. Smaller...
I’m part of the gang now.
D18 barrel, cerakoted, threaded 5/8ths. Cabelas doesn’t even list 223 as an option on the website and this was priced and labeled as a lite in my local store. Couldn’t pass it up for $400 under the normal d18 msrp.
Now to order Tikka UM rings, wait for the rok...

Does the forend have enough meat in it to widen the barrel channel to fit a sendero/rem varmint contour?
I'd want to get it inletted for the Badger M7 anyways and could just go have that done locally at the same time.
I’m in for one and probably many others down the line.
Add a second if you release a compact version as I’ve got kids almost big enough to start shooting.
And I’ll be the minority here, but if you do other inlets please do a model 7 version. I’m probably going tikka on all future builds but...
Shot this south Texas buck yesterday. 6 creed factory 108 eldm. 40 yard shot, ran 40 and fell in sight. 191lb live weight.
Entrance
Entrance on left, exit on right. Found the jacket under the skin.
I mostly use a last chance jig now, but with the Bitz, i would just use a little bit of string wax on the jig. any cured glue would pop off easy after.
I do the same. Quite a bit of savings if you build a lot of arrows. It's something like $4 for a 12" x 6ft roll of matte white 651 on amazon. My wife has a cricut, but I just cut them on a guillotine style paper cutter
haha, for sure. I initially planned to go lighter, but after thinking about it this isn't a mountain rifle for me. Just general use in texas/oklahoma. Any out of state hunts I do with be with a bow. Maybe I'll replace the barrel when it burns out with a carbon one and save another pound...
yes I used to brown packaging paper that was scrunched up but same results as a sponge. The brown and tan were krylon camo. The white was something random I had laying around. It is clear coated with vht matte wheel paint.
