I also just returned this week from our hunt with Ram Aviation. Brian, Ben, Megan, Hunter....The whole crew went way out of their way to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime! And, that's exactly what it was the hunt, adventure, trip of a lifetime! We saw and experienced everything we hoped...
I texted Bryan with Ram Aviation yesterday regarding the situation and he said that It’s been a tough weather year so far and that they currently are not backed up, but thought they might be after yesterday’s weather. He also said they can keep up pretty good if theres a break in weather every...
I agree, great information, thanks! @brisket what time of year did you hunt and how many days/how much time did you spend in the field afterwards before you were able to freeze the cape? I'm curious because we are headed into the field on the 13 of September this year and my plan is to freeze...
I wondered the same thing whilst planning our hunt for September of this year and finally settled on September 12 - 22 based on what other folks had posted about and experienced in previous years. Seems it might be somewhat cooler and colder in mid to late September (so less or no bugs) but it...
Despite being deferred, this is fantastic news for 2021 hunters!!! I am booked with RAM for September of this year and was sweating bullets. Now I'm doing a happy dance!
Thank you all for the responses. So what you're telling me is it's the wind! LoL... I figured with as thick as it is in there that planting a stand or a blind and letting them come to me would be the most effective method. But it definitely doesn't seem to be working. Playing the wind (scent...

I borrowed 2 of the large movie theater looking popcorn poppers that some neighbors of mine had and spent a weekend popping enough to fill most of four 30 gallon yard bags full. At the time it seemed like overkill and I wondered what I was thinking. But in hindsight I'm glad I popped as much...
On my hunt a few years ago, I used old breads, bagles, muffins etc. Sweet COB covered and mixed with molasses and popcorn covered with cherry Kool-aid mix. I also supplemented with Marshmallows. By far the first thing to go that the bears seemed to LOVE was the popcorn and the marshmallows...
Hey Jboogg,
Sure! I did a ton of research and looking into different options and ultimately settled on Ram for several reasons:
1 - Local knowledge - Brian is born and raised in Alaska and knows his stuff
2 - Price - Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either
3 - Accommodations - Ram...
Hey J3butch, just out of curiosity, what gave Ram the edge? Why did you ultimately decide to book with them? I also have a caribou drop hunt booked through Ram in 2021 and have several reasons why I chose them. But, I'm curious what your reasons are?
3 buddies and I are booked with Ram for a hunt next year, September 2021...I did a ton of research and looking into different options and ultimately settled on Ram for several reasons:
