So, it's about 50/50. I don't do it a lot so I am likely better off going with something like a mossberg 835 or 935 combo that has 2 barrels, one for turkey and one for waterfowl and no pistol grip. As long as there is a way to mount a red dot on it.
Wanting to add a turkey shotgun for the occasional times I get to go.
Pistol grip or no?
Was thinking of a mossberg turkey/duck combo, but the combos don't come in pistol grip. If it's not worth it, then I'll pass and go with a more standard stock.
Bullet selection can absolutely impact meat loss. The challenge is selecting the bullet that will both perform well and not blow out the meat. The tough of a bullet and when you don't hit the shoulder, it pencils. Stepping down is an option, but I don't know that it is going to get you what you...
We're getting a griffon to join the club. He'll be for our youngest son who is the more adventurous of the two boys. My oldest hunts with me, but is dabbling. The youngest can't wait to go in the next couple of years.
Anyway, is anyone familiar with the Southern ID breeders? Snake River...
I have a 14 year old who has been hunting 5 years now. I started him on a youth model savage 7mm-08 because I could get low power loads and still have the cross-section to take game down. He now shoots one of my 6.5CM with a suppressor on it.
While I like the small form factor of the savage, I...
It's not seasonal. It's all the time due to supply chain and high demand.
Know what you want and keep an eye out for them. Also, it may be better to have a local shop order (backorder) one for you if you are looking for a specific rifle.
I have a pack and a half of IQ shield screen protectors for the Garmin Fenix 5 and 5 plus watches. Also, 3 black silicon screen protectors.
$20 shipped conus.
I have somewhat matching marks, 6 years apart.
First ever deer hunt. Hiked in a mile, weighed 300lbs and felt like I was going to die. Sat over a saddle and waited. A couple hours later, hear a noise below and there is a forked buck walking through the saddle. I couldn't get a prone shot so I...
How far are your shots. If you are never going to shoot more than a couple hundred yard due to terrain and cover, then there may not be a point to the 7mm.
To close the loop, I bought two of the flat tops they had in stock. One in black forest and one in high plains. They'll be configured identically and once here, I'll decide which one will go on the 7mm RM and the 280ai.
These are the last pieces to complete my builds unless I suddenly decide to...
I'm curious what the actual lightweight adjustable cheek riser is on a Manners EH1? Can't find any pics of it.
Is it just a kydex piece that slides on a couple through bolts?
Is it actually built into the butt of the rifle?
I know I can add it after the fact, but curious as to what it...
I actually think that might be by second stock (this or swamp). I actually like a few of the other patterns better, but am not fond of bright patches potentially catching they eye of deer or elk. We rarely hunt in snow and most of our ground is brown or black with some tan from grass.
