OP, I appreciate your insight, having had a lot of experience in a wide variety of bear country. I lived in the same region for 3 years a few years back. Even had a sow and cubs come to the yard after a deer I was in the process of butchering and I lived less than 1/2 mile from "town".
I...
Good job doing some homework.
I was told a year after the fact that they had not heard a verdict from their hearing. I assumed court hearing, but it appears maybe it was hearing with USFWS as part of the investigation that never produced enough evidence to prosecute.
Thanks for the fact check.
I was around when it happened, so ALL the info I had was first hand from the individuals involved (including the court verdict). So my info may be very biased.
I could only find this one media reference to the incident online, so I may need to educate myself on searching incident reports and...
Haha funny stuff. I specifically referenced hunting solo. I still filled plenty of tags, and now I happen to have some people I can hunt with. If you want to come with so I'm not solo, I'd share my tipi tent. Let's go back in there as far as you want. By myself, I don't take unnecessary risks...
I personally know multiple people who have been investigated and/or in court due to defending themselves in a grizzly charge. The attitude by the officials in charge (I don't remember if it was WY G&F or feds) AS COMMUNICATED TO ME BY THOSE BEING IVESTIGATED was definitely guilty until proven...
Tall bucks are only ones I seem to be able to find. This is my 2nd tallest
For some reason I dont have a great pic of my tallest but here's this one. 27" tall. I don't think he even breaks 20" in width. Hes is a 4×4 but his G3 and G4 are perfectly in-line in this picture.
Awesome. My go to hunting rifles are 1B's in 7mm RM and 6.5 CM. Both shoot 1 MOA with very little effort reloading. I work up 3 loads with my bullet and powder and the best one is usually 1 MOA or less.
I've used the stainless 7 mag for 18 years now and it's taken a lot of animals. The walnut...
I don't know that this does any good, but I picked up this older Muley Freak bino harness with the front pocket, and my range finder fits in there nicely. I don't really notice it's there and it doesn't interfere with my bow string. The extra inch protrusion noticeable when lying prone if you...
But what if I'm out there with my neighbor, eating protein bars, packing some extra weight, and hunting reindeer... than could it be considered " in the feild"?
Sorry, couldn't help it.
I used a vevor my brother bought off of Amazon a couple weeks ago camping with my wife and 1 year old. My wife ran it on high for about 9 hours and there was still 1/4 tank of diesel left in the morning. Her and the baby were toasty in the tent all night long and it got down to 28 that night...
Anyone have a pair of these that the rand hasn't detached? I tried some on and loved the fit. They felt better to me than the Nevadas. I want to try some but if there's no hope for durability, I may go with the Kennetrek Hardscrabble Hikers.

This story made my day. That's what I'd call winning with class.
We have had horrible car luck over the last 5 years but that ended when we picked up 2012 Honda Odyssey someone one was selling down the road with 115,000 miles when we were in a pinch after our nicer SUV was totalled. 3 years later it has around d 150,000 miles. We did replace an alternator...
When my wife suggests we go on a trip/adventure that's been on my list, it's always exciting. Maybe there's a fishing trip, hog hunt, or beach vacation he's been thinking about you could both go on...?
