    BATA has been considered the best but hard to find. The new Bunny Boots that are designed in Alaska are showing up on Fort Greeley and getting good reviews but we haven't hit the extreme cold yet. I'm sure Ft Greely CRTC [US Army Cold Regions Test Center] will be testing this winter.

    Lightweight Tripod

    The designers Mom was just here to fill a bison tag she drew so I showed her around the area, and she left me an Aziak tripod and ball head as a gift. This thing is amazing, and I definitely have other tripods that are going to the nephews.

    Hits: Half dozen Kimber 84Ls and two 84Ms.......always looking for another to outfit nephews. Misses: Enlightened Equipment down quilt zippers suck. Two Vortex Scopes failed right out of the box.

    For those advocating a head shot, especially with buckshot, take a look at a bear skull and the angles involved. I've had a bad experience with a rifle on a facing head shot so no buckshot for me.

    BTDT! The pain over the top of my head into my eye was fearsome. I didn't dare drive. I got to Fairbanks ER and the brought in an eye surgeon. The eye pressure would have blinded me in a few days if not treated . I recovered but the sinus near the eye is still troublesome.
