I'd vote for either the TC Compass (I've had fantastic luck with TC barrels) or the Ruger American.
As for chambering, 6.5 Creedmoor or 7mm-08, whichever has more off-the-shelf options where you're at.
If a revolver is what you want, 10mm doesn't make a ton of sense unless you already have others in the stable and want to share ammo, nevermind how awful the moonclips you need for a rimless case can be when they get the slightest bit bent. I'd go straight to a .41 or .44 mag, as you said.
If...
I used to have a .45 XD when they first came out in the mid-2000s and Dad bought an XDm in .40 a few years ago that I've shot it a fair bit as-is and with a 9mm conversion barrel I got for him. Comfortable guns, I certainly prefer the 'American' grip angle, especially for shooting sports. Bore...
I don't absolutely love the XDm, but it is certainly an ergonomic improvement on the Glock.
I shoot an M&P in IDPA/USPSA so that's certainly the brand I'd love to see adopt the 10mm next, but I'd also be keen on a longslide Sig P320 (probably the more likely offering, if at all).
Wish I could find one of these locally to hold before buying.
I'll take what I can get to make a Glock not feel like a Glock, the 10mm aspect is the only thing that compelled me to own one. This may have to do until S&W cranks out a 10mm M&P... someday
Ah man, that's a shame. While I probably don't need another rifle, I really don't need a rifle chambered in $5 bills. .300WM (or potentially .300 PRC if 3rd party brass supply shows up) is as big as I'll ever need.
Guessing you got in on the TBH special? Hell of a deal, I strongly considered putting a deposit down on a Tier 2 in 300WM and begging for forgiveness from the wife later. Hopefully they run a comparable group buy again next year!
Also, good to see folks from (or in the vicinity of) Hurst on...
If you decide to ship, I've been very happy with Long Rifles, Inc. in Sturgis. They did good work on my last r700, and with a turnaround time that puts a lot of local outfits to shame.
Would like a little higher top end magnification than that Meostar, however the Z5 is interesting. A bit past what I wanted to spend, but I've used Z3s before and was definitely a fan.
Between a timely sale and some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, I find myself the owner of a T3x Superlite in 6.5 CM and in the hunt for a scope for it. Use will be for aoudad, whitetail and hogs out to ~600 yards, and trying to keep the scope price under the $1k mark. Not an ounce...
I'll second (third?) Ammoseek. As davsco said, shipping prices vary wildly, so check out the top few results, sometimes paying a few more cents a box will save you substantially on shipping.
Bare rifle (action, trigger, chassis & barrel) was the tiniest bit over 10 lbs. After the scope, base, rings, bipod, muzzle brake and a boat anchor of an AAC suppressor it is sitting at 14 lb 6 oz.
Chassis is an XLR Element. First foray into the world of chassis, and I'm a fan. Super...
