    Light Weight Rifle Advice/Input

Since this thread was started, Sportsman's Warehouse has indeed started shipping guns to FFLs, at least in my state.

.45 Colt for hunting backup carry

Thanks for the head's up, I'll have a look. Hopefully Colorado is not among the restrictive states.

.45 Colt for hunting backup carry

Got lucky at an RMEF banquet and won a Taurus Judge, and while it wouldn't have been my first choice in handgun otherwise, I think it will be a fun toy and something for snake duty in Uvalde. Also got me thinking that loaded up with some .45C, it might be a serviceable sidearm to take while...

Berger 135 gr CH in 6.5 Creedmoor

I purchased some of the 6.5CM 135gr Berger factory ammo and it is indeed Lapua small primer brass. Hell of a deal for the components you get.

    AR Varmint Trigger

This or the ALG ACT are great budget options. Geissele or one of the canned timney/triggertech options if you want to spend a little more. ETA: Maybe I should read first, if you want 2 lbs of pull, you're not going to get it out of a budget trigger, end even most of the nice sets will only...

This definitely has me itching to do a remage build with the 'winner'

    Tikka T3x 300 WSM - muzzle brake?

Insite Arms brake would be my choice above all others, but it's not the cheapest option

tikka t3x thread pitch and recommended brake

Lot more big bore 1/2"-28 options out recently. Insite Arm's brake is another well regarded self-timing option that you can get in .30 cal bore with the smaller thread options.

Tikka 6.5. To cut or not to cut?

I'll be cutting my Superlite when I get it threaded to ~22," just cause moving a full length barrel with a suppressor hanging off around a blind without thumping anything and making noise is a pain!

    22LR - Long range training

I was just curious for a cost comparison (you can load .223 a lot cheaper than I thought!), but I still want a .22LR because of the challenges in shooting it even at modest ranges. I love my 10 lb bartlein-barreled 6.5CM, but if all you have around you are 100 yd ranges, it doesn't challenge...

    22LR - Long range training

I think I see what you're getting at with a reduced power load, but you're not saving a ton of powder vs something like RL7 that will get the job done with ~20 gr (non-AI .223 data). Speer's 52gr JHP can be had for $0.10ea, non-BR primers for $0.03ea and $25/lb for RL7, all MidwayUSA prices for...

    22LR - Long range training

The At-One model looks interesting as well, good adjustability in the stock, 24" barrel, heavy enough for trainer/match duty, and looks like they sell for mid-$500s when they're in stock.

    22LR - Long range training

Ah, I see now that the 457 barrel change system is unchanged from the 455, that make that easier. The Tikka is held onto the receiver by three (heavily threadlocked) screws, in theory there's nothing to stop anyone from swapping barrels themselves, but I skimmed through the mega thread on SH...

    22LR - Long range training

This would make me hesitate on a T1x or 457, the availability (or lack thereof) of phenomenal quality, tighter-chambered barrels that I can throw on myself, especially for the relatively low price of the existing RPR options. Presumably the aftermarket will eventually catch up, I believe both...

    22LR - Long range training

Has anyone had any hands-on time with the Tikka T1x? Looks like a good compromise between the cost of entry of the RPR and the big-rifle-compatibility of the Vudoo. Seems they went out of their way to make the action footprint the same as the T3x line, at least for stock inlet, would make...

Battle of the Single Stage Press

That was a press I knew next to nothing about, but it came out very well in that test and I'm intrigued. Seems to be a great value as well, especially compared to the co-ax.
