I've had good results using Dawn dish detergent, little bit baking soda. Do not boil, just simmer for hours.
Rinse skull out good with garden hose nozzle. Then simmer again, clean ( I use a pick), thoroughly dry and apply the peroxide cream.
most of the weights reported above 200-250lbs are within the range that I've experienced.

Tried the Tuff Guy release too. However it made a LOUD CLICK sound upon release. Returned it, don't need the CLICK to alert a buck/bull.
been using a tree saddle and one-stick system the last 2 years.
Coming across a good spot or pattern elk coming/going to bedding areas, I can be up the tree in 10 min and ready to hunt, depending on wind direction.
