Long shot, but does anybody have a composite stock laying around for a model 70 that they would be willing to part with? Standard #3 barrel profile, not a large safari barrel. Brown PoundR, McMillan, H&S Precision, Echols, Borden, Bell & Carlson, etc any of the decently built composite stocks...
Exactly, I'm trying to determine that weight difference between the long "magnum" and the long "standard" weights. Specifically in the pre 64s if possible.
Depends on what he wants to hunt. I'm in grad school at Texas A&M and I hunt hogs and coyotes at least 2x a week on some local ranches that I've made friends with through my church.
Pre war Model 70 supergrade in 270 WCF will be heading to New Mexico with me this fall for Elk season. Blueing is almost completely worn off that rifle and it just keeps doing it's job.
