I tried a puffy jacket from them. Paid 320 and it was SO thin! Wind cut right through it. Couldnt get a refund, only store credit. First time and last time I tried first lite.

Ive only seen 2 while elk hunting, but we have predominately only hunted Idaho. And this is Montana. Probably a little different terrain and such.

I didn’t see anyone ask if I’ve killed an elk. But yes I have, 4 actually. My dad has killed 10-15. We are well versed on elk, but not mule deer, hence my questions.

For elk, when during the general season would you say is the best week to hunt? We both prefer rifle hunting but I have heard elk rifle opener is a zoo.

Simple. You are letting your wind blow in the direction the deer are. Figure out where the deer are going and coming and hunt those stands on a wind that doesnt blow your scent in those directions.
No amount of scent killer or cover scent will dissipate our stink.

How feasible is it to shoot an elk and a mule deer in the same unit on this tag? It would be on public land self guided. My father and myself should draw the combo tag if we apply in 23. Id really like to get a mule deer but am not sure how realistic it is to hunt mule deer and elk in the same...
You wont have to worry about ticks, chiggers or snakes. Ive hunted that wma before on rifle opener. It wasnt as bad as the other guy is saying. Just do some map shooting and get away from the crowds.
