My daughter, within her ability to shoot her bow. It may have been off a bit, but I was impressed that the 20, 40, and 60 marks lined up exactly with the marks we made on the wheel. Also, when she shot with the tape, her groups were centered. I didn't put them side by side, but a yard on her...
Yes. You can measure 3 points and use it to create the curve. That is one of the options.
To give some additional feedback, my daughter has a BT Convergence with a Spot hogg fe. Her arrow speed is 181 fps. We shot in some marks at 20,40,60 which is where she runs out of clearance with the...
I have no idea what is a reasonable expectation on these. That is a small flaw. It is a production rifle. I know they are expensive, but that is relative to other production rifles. Compared to a nationally renowned wood stock maker, I would bet the total cost of the rifle is less than what...
The difference between 6cm, 243, and 243AI is miniscule. You will have to stand on the gas on a 6 Creed to get the velocity you will get with a 243AI at lower pressure. I run 105s at 3150-3200 fps in a 243AI with a 26" barrel. It runs at pressures low enough that I can get mud puddle in the...
You keep going rounds here. It is relevant what the velocity is at impact. Shoot a coyote with a 55 grain sierra gk sbt. Velocity 3650ish. At 40 ft. DRT, at 250 yards, runners, at 400+ yards, good luck. The difference was/is impact velocity and the resulting effect on expansion. Just...
People get caught up in comparing bc. It takes a shitload of it to truly make a noticeable difference. I shoot 2 rigs for prs matches. One is a 243 Ackley with 115 dtacs at 3150 fps. The other is a 6 dasher with 108 berger targets at 2800 fps. If looking at calling a 90 degree crosswind...
I have a greeley built 5.5-30 and an xtr pro that have both been used for a couple years with no issues. Both have been accidentally dropped and held zero when checked immediately afterwards. I have not run the drop test on them. Xtr3 is well over 3k rounds, probably close to 10k, but I lose...
I run 115 dta s in 243 Ackleys with 26 and 28" barrels as belly match guns for PResque matches. Running a case full of h1000 or n165 will get around 3050 fps at the accuracy node with a 26" barrel and 3150 fps at the accuracy node with a 28" barrel. The pressures are pedestrian. I have shot...
I would think the answer is yes. The nose ring equipment is $$$$. In my experience, and also from talking to guys at matches, that bullet is not the most forgiving design. I have shot a ton of dtacs. They are a pretty forgiving design and can be purchased with the nosering. I don't think...
I have the exact same issue. Long trips mean long naps for me usually. I finally taught her to pull a trailer because I got tired of her getting sick riding whenever we needed a trailer.
I have shot one deer with an arrow that was the same. It fell out of sight, and I went sprinting down there thinking it was a spine hit. When I got there, it was lungs only and the deer was stone dead.
My kids have shot deer from less than 100 yards with a highly frangible 300 grain ML...
The problem is you've only seen a handful. You are at one of the extreme ends of the bell curve or a normal distribution. I live in the midwest where slug guns and deer drives used to be the norm. Party hunting is legal here which means the group can continue to hunt as long as everyone is...
I'm not sure why people are so resistant to this fact. I've always hated recoil, but yet was asked by my friends to zero their heavy recoiling slug guns and rifles because they couldn't get them to "group."
The more volume I shoot, the more this reveals itself as fact. Recoil, even in small...
Yes^^^^this...but you need to shoot a lot and analyze the results carefully. When I was shooting 300+ shots per week plus matches I could tell the difference in recoil between a 105 going 3150 from my 243AI and a 115 going 3000 fps in a 15# crossover rifle. The difference is not nothing when...
You guys are posting fast. I agree that chamfer is important. I do that every time.
How are you guys cleaning brass? I think that makes a difference as to neck tension, bullet weld, etc. I tried a lot of methods and honestly the best results came from vibratory tumbling in rice or walnut...
I like to run a chrono as well. I do not find them valuable in deciding which load to run. I do find them valuable to identify trends that effect trajectory. Powder temp sensitivity, and speed up after x number of rounds of fouling on a clean barrel are valuable things to know. I run h1000...
I would like to see this as well. I don't care about chrono numbers though. I want to see chipped paint on steel at distance. Chronograph numbers are for internet creds. The only thing that matters is where the bullets land.
Some combos don't match quick drop. Put bdc turret marks on your normal mil turret. If conditions change you can wash off and mark again. With revic, you can run bdc mode and it will compensate for changing conditions.
I tried the fury binos with ballistics (borrowed) at an nrl hunter match...
