Where are all the people coming from?

Short answer, no. An investment group will not freshen up a property as long as stays rented. If the maintenance schedule for the region says paint every 15 years then maybe they will paint every 15 years. Planting a tree is a poor investment when then have to water the plant so yards will...

camper shell, truck camper or camper shell with clamshell tent

I bought an SUV to camp in at trail heads or wherever. I would fold the rear seats forward so was flat in back. I could then fit at a diagonal to sleep. Comfortably. I generally hunt solo, though. I loaded my gear in plastic tubs. When was time to sleep, I would unload the tubs from the SUV...

Flying with multiple firearms one case?

The ammunition limits are quite specific if you get an inspector that wants to show how much they know. You can get multiple guns in a case but you likely will not be able to include enough ammunition. Also, black powder and their substitutes are no bueno. Maybe same for primers.

    Inflation Effect on Hunters?

Zero impact. I have driven through 6 states before to get to non-resident hunts I drew. Sometimes gas was under $3 a gallon and sometimes above. If calculate the cost of the tag as the tag costing the year drawn plus any costs to apply for the X prior years to build enough points to get the tag...

Who's going to the Kifaru Grand Opening Party?

Yes. I have business acquaintances that opted to locate their operations adjacent to a shipping hub at the edge of an airport.

    Northern Colorado wolves

If the wolves are where the snow gets deep enough to slow the elk down and there are maintained roads in the area then the wolves will stay very healthy and have large litters since the energy expended to run down an elk is much less than in roadless areas. Oil and gas have been a great friend...

    Backpack hunting choice

Heck, can use a couple of pillow cases then tie off and toss one over your back and let one hang in front. If are strong enough, that is. I used a metal external frame pack on my first western hunt and poorly fit me and I was spike camping a new spot each night so was 70 pounds beating up my...

How are people affording these crazy home prices?

Here is the flip side. Or, flip sides. Rents are going up in most markets. If a young family or recently divorced or widowed person are paying $X monthly rent and want to put down roots locally then the buying decision is a bit more complex than timing the housing market. Those people will not...

Colorado Unit 81 now a draw instead of OTC for Archery

"I won't be burning my points on it." I hear this often during discussions in CO. Let's face it. I can hunt elk every year in CO even as a smelly non-resident and not burn my points. My non-point-burning hunt can be as simple as OTC archery or perhaps one of the Blue Chip hunts that require a...

    Question for dog owners

A buddy of mine kept having issues with finding fresh piles on his bed. He had to go to court to get that crap stopped. He is back playing tunes on the road but was a drag when he would get back from the road and have to deal with the poo piles. Parlay!!

Let’s here everyone’s opinion on which caliber they would get for a all round rifle?

You have every gun you need now. Weight of the rifle is always going to be lighter is better on a hunt. May kick like a mule yet most hunts you have more than a t-shirt on and should only need one or two shots. As for animal attacks, a rifle is a piss poor option. I was turkey hunting and was...

    Garmin Increach mini

These are great little devices. Much like the iPhone, you can always wait a few months hoping to get a newer version or a better price on the current model yet that means going without for now and maybe the shelf is empty when you have no more time to hold off buying. You do not have to be on a...

Annual tally of Grizzlies killed by LEO/USFW/Wardens?

There was Ardel, Burnel, Raynel, W.L., Lanel, Odel, Marcel, Newgene, Claude, and Clovis. That was Versie's boys, of course. Not related to Versie though John Eubanks was a professional tree-climber and can climb a sweet gum to fetch up a nest of coons, if you have the need.

How far can you judge yardarge accurately?

100 yards +/- 10% then +/- 25% out to 250 yards assuming relatively flat. After that, don't rely on my estimate. I also am not very good at figuring in slope impact on effective yardage as prepare to shoot. I use my rangefinder and I keep a cheat sheet on my rifle stock for bullet factors due...

    Wyoming 90/10 for elk

As I watch Yellowstone roads collapse and NM burn up I think, well, is quite clear the residents of those states are quite proud of defending increases in the resident allotment of wildlife so presumably those same level-headed, proud folks want to deal with the natural disasters mostly on their...

    Lost package?

If you are having issues with shipments then tell the shipping party to require signature at delivery. Sure, you may have to go to the hub to get the box but Methhead Mike won't grab your box then moments later be angrily tossing your much needed item in the trash because is pissed was not...

    The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

That would imply the recession extends the rest of 2022, all of 2023 and all of 2024 since stocks typically start to climb 6 months prior to the end of a recession. We will see but that is a long, deep recession.

    A do it all backpack.

See if you can try out several packs with 60 or more pounds in them. My pack is about 15 years old and technology has surpassed it so similar packs are now 10 pounds less when empty. I do love the fit which is so good that it becomes one with my back. I almost traded up to a new pack two years...
