Glad someone said it. You also run the risk of injecting water through the vapor barrier on the house. Then you are dealing with excess water on the sheathing or potentially in the insulation. Fine Home Building had a pretty good podcast about this last year if I remember right.
For a quick start on food. What are preferred dried meals. I would keep some at house and few in vehicles and bags. Rotating them to use on hunting and camping trips as the expiration dates came up.
I saw that Costcos brand wa already mentioned.
This scenario is why I keep trying to figure the...
I get that it grows up faster for screening. It is also unfortunate that these days we feel that we have to keep the deer that are on properties a secret/hidden from others. With some additional fertilizer bushes could get more height and fuller faster. Were I worked in Iowa, we did a screening...
I would just hold onto it. They seem to hold value better than most any rifle that is typically available for sale. I am sure that some have had better returns on M70s than on the stock market.
Saw this also I messaged the guy that has it for sale. He sent me the article about the build. It is a pretty cool build. If I am remembering right the gunsmith is the same one that worked with Patrick from Kifaru to build the Rambler rifle, I think that was the name of it.
For you all that are using Miscanthus for screening. Why not use native Big Stem prairie grasses and/or shrubs? There is no value to Miscanthus for any wildlife, and really should be listed as an invasive.
Since the discussion is about a hunting rifle and not a target rifle, there is no real point in worrying about 10 round groups.
There is not much to clarify. It was just a general question. For a lightweight mountain hunting rifle at normal shooting ranges what compares to it in the price...
I would be a little worried that keeping it in a liquid could potentially cause issues if water got into the plastic bag. Humidity can also ruin medications. Talk with you provider or try to get ahold of a rep from the pharmaceutical company to see exactly what the parameters are. Maybe it would...
My guess would be that 270/6.8 heavy bullets are just newer and not many have messed with them yet. Plus the fact that I don't think the 6.8 Western got the marketing hype the PRC, specifically 7 PRC, got. This seems to be the down fall of a lot of Federal and Winchester loads historically.
I...
Im pretty sure a "270-08" has been done. Not sure what it was called. I know recently it would be considered a slower .277 Fury from SIG. That is mostly due to the Fury being a hybrid case and allowing much higher pressures.
I would agree that they are probably not better than a Fieldcraft or NULA. But I think those two are harder to find available on the used market. Neither are in production at this time. A NULA style may be available at some time from Wilson Combat, but I have seen some crazy speculation on...
I am new to the non-res aspect of hunting Iowa. I lived there for 10 yrs and was able to enjoy it all the time. Moving made me realize I should have hunted more than I did and in more places around the state or in the area that I lived. I was hoping to hunt the Fall after I graduate, I may end...
Is Kimber the better option for lighter rifles. They have CRF, seem to be lighter than most CRF. Accuracy issues seem to have been solved, if there were any. Seems that people are just not that good at shooting light weight rifles. Thanks.
I was just going over this in my head the other night. After a lot of thinking I have almost decided to make the 270/6.8 my all around caliber, even if I were to go for Grizzly/Browns. I know there would not be much gain from going with an AI cartridge, but would it gain anything?
Iowa is the one "Western" state that I am willing to play the point game in. Only because I lived there and know where to go right away. Plus it is only a three hour drive and I could hunt it just on the weekends if I really had too.
I kind of forgot to remind myself to buy a preference point this year. Will I keep my previous point or do I default on it since I did not buy one this year? Im guessing there is no way to try and get a point now. Thanks.
