I was talking with a friend who is really into cars. From the people that he knows in the industry, they are all saying to hold off on a new car for the next 3-4 years. Everyone was deep into developing EVs and not working on combustion engines. The EV thing is slowly dying off and we should...
Guess I should have prefaced that this is for whitetail hunting, so more than likely 40 and in. So you are telling me if I can not spend the money on the absolute best I should not be out hunting, guess the old timers up until at least 2010 or later were absolutely wrong in what and how they did...
Could be an option. Guess the perfect hunt would be to have a buck get pushed back out into to marsh at daylight, to limit siting on a ladder for long.
If this is new in your area you are lucky. I delivered more Amazon packages than USPS ones when I worked for the Post Office. UPS and USPS "trade" packages off all the time for deliveries in my area. It also depends on how far you are from an Amazon hub. They just put a new one in 40 miles away...
Maybe use the roads for what they were intended for. Log the overstocked stands and clear out the excess fuels. Use them for control burn lines. Yes, illegal access is an issue everywhere. That is an issue with LE being kept from doing their job and judges not carrying out sentencing.
Can anyone recommend a tripod stand that is on the lighter-weight/portable side? I am thinking of using one for rifle season on public land. It will be brought in by a canoe in a marsh and set up in the marsh. Also, I need ideas to keep the legs from sinking too deep if not on solid ground.
What has been seen for penetration with the 7-08, on elk and larger? More specifically on a quartering shot, if it was needed, and at a further distance. Not talking long-range.
I will say that climbers were more comfortable when I used them. Hunting public and the occasional private, that I can't leave stands up on, got me to switch to a hang-on. I seemed to always have issues with setting the stand up to allow it to be level as the tree tapered.
This discussion has been had before. As hunters, we need to be better aligned to fight back against other user groups if a user fee is placed on them. They will want a seat at the table to make decisions on the management of areas, more than they do now.
I'm not sure what the answer is. I do...
Look at the smaller portable units. ResMed has a few options that are pretty small and will run off batteries. Unfortunately, it seems that most insurance companies wont help get one of the smaller units.
Hydration, moving around (walking), and compression socks. (Personally, I use ProCompression socks, I have no affiliation with them.) I would talk with your doctor before using compression socks though since you have a history of DVT. You may have a larger clot that breaks apart, using...
^^^^ This. Ghillies are about the lightest way to go. If allowed, pull some local vegetation to help break up your boat/kayak. I do not like having a facemask on so I always paint my face to cut glare down. Ducks can see better on cloudy days than on sunny ones.
I do not use acrylic calls...
Your plan sounds pretty good honestly. I would focus on shooting close with eyes closed to know the feel of proper shooting. Doing further blind bail shooting will also help. When I shot for a collegiate club that is how we started all our practice sessions. Do some shooting after workout sets...
I'm going to pick up a .410 for rabbits that are destroying the garden. What is a good shot size for out to about 40 yds. What choke should should I use? I am not sure if it will be a new or older shotgun.
That is how I am thinking of running them since they will be on public in WI. Trying to get some free time to go scout between all the rain when there will be fresh sign.
Have an RTIC. I used it almost daily for 1.5 years while on the railroad. It was abused on rough flooring and had bags slammed and stacked on it in transport vans. The only issues I had with it were a hard zipper and the zipper pull came off. Both were fixed with a bit of TLC.
Since you said you do not do well with gore or death I would not go into Nursing/FF/LE, etc. You are eventually going to see it and have to deal with it. Possibly look into volunteering on community boards, conservation groups or other things like that. Could you use your degree and knowledge...
