    Needing Marbles Knife Info

I found a Marbles Knife for sale, very similar to this one pictured. I think the model may be Woods & Water. If anyone is familiar with this model I'd sure appreciate some info. I like the design, and seems very close to a Randall Alaskan skinner in some respects. Are the Marbles knives known...

Got it finished tonight and applied boiled linseed oil. There are 130 pieces of birch bark in there! Now to get a sheath stitched up.

A carbon blade I ordered from Ragweed Forge and making a stacked birch bark handle. A fun project, but unfortunately won't be ready in time for Christmas. Love that custom grip. It just melts into the hand.😅

What Ammunitioin for my 2024 Alaska Moose Hunt

I have had nothing but exceptional results with Barnes bullets on moose, along with Partitions, out of 300wm, 30-06, and 270. Probably anything on your list would work fine if put in the vitals. I would vote Barnes, then accubond. Whatever is most accurate in your rifle. This was the 300wm...

A beauty. That design resembles the Canadian belt knife.

Best knives for gutting and skinning

For predators and small game I stay away from the havalon and razor blade knives. They are just too sharp and easily put holes in thin skinned pelts. I prefer my little single blade Case knife for furbearers, and also use an inexpensive $7 victorinox paring knife for detail work on the feet...

    Camp Axe Recommendations?

Well, the Cold Steel Trail Boss arrived the other day. I promptly scraped the varnish off the handle then sanded it and applied a couple coats of boiled linseed oil. I also sanded the head and applied gun blue. For $25 I think this will work just fine. It's no premium axe, but it will do the...

    WTB Looking for gloss

I have an older Burris 3-9x40 gloss. I had it on my 22-250 but then swapped with an illuminated reticle for predator hunting.

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I've owned the Conquest HD 8x32's for several years and find them exceptional. I would not pay more to get the 8x42's. In my opinion I don't think there is any noticeable loss optically with the 32mm vs 42mm lenses. I find them the perfect compact size, and on many hunts at first and last...

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

I'm resurrecting this one to give some more love for the Fullfield II in 3-9x40. I've had one on my 30-06 for several years and it has never let me down. I've carried it on hunts where we were in soaking rain for multiple consecutive days and had no issues with condensation, and I should add...
