My experience was I put a front/back bar combo think it was 12/10 or maybe 12/8 on my RX4 ultra. I did hold steadier, but not enough for me to really see a huge difference in groups. I run a 10" microhex and while it vibes quite a bit on my carbon bow I do feel it helps hold better. Maybe its...
Nope, but it does change tune by adjusting things on my arrows like point weight, spine, brand etc. Even individual arrows occasionally need nock tuning to shoot correctly. Again just my experience, I don't discount that you had a different experience.
That is nice but generally not the norm for changing stuff that much. Probably good advice to check it regardless. That can be as simple as shooting a bare shaft next to a fletched.....Also, field points fly incredibly well even out of an untuned bow. Did you check POI with fixed blades?
Anything different like length, point weight, spine, different arrow manufacturer etc I would check it. Obviously the outside diameter of your arrow will vary if you go with different arrow companies even in the same inside diameter category for example an Easton axis 5mm arrow and a BE rampage...
I almost bought into the FOC craze (literally had the arrows in my basket on a website to purchase). I talked to few guys on here and read some information from both sides of the argument and really thought through my experiences as an archer over the last 18 years. I concluded that it probably...
I switched to a tension release to cure target panic and now hunt with a thumb button. I am a much better shot with a thumb button, for me pulling through the shot works a lot easier with my carter wise choice........ If you can shoot an index finger release well theres no reason to change.
If you can figure your draw length correctly, an Elite Energy 32 or 35 would fit the bill really well. That switchback is a fantastic bow as well. Just all those bows are either cam or mod specific for draw length
Hey man just giving my perspective. Until you have lost a big buck over something stupid, I guess you don't worry about the small stuff. But I do agree its really cool innovation and I do agree your rest and sight are more likely to fail.
That I suppose is why it concerns me, its just one more thing to go wrong! Once a cam is shimmed and the cables settles if you have a quality string the cams usually dont come out of time until you've shot the piss out of your strings and cables. After being rattled on an atv ride on a rocky...
I havent played with the SET technology yet but my one beef with the idea is I don't like stuff that can move when I don't want it to. How locked down is it after you adjust the limb pockets?
My opinion is worth what you pay for it, but if I were you, I would keep your alphamax even after you upgrade. Keep it until you really feel like your upgrade is a better bow. I still have an energy 35 that I wont sell because I still don't know that I have shot a bow that I like better. I have...
I shoot black gold ascents (I think thats the model, its been while since I purchased them) and after adjusting all 3 axis have no issues on angled shots unless I do something stupid on my part. I would not shoot a slider sight that can't adjust all 3 axis but that is just me. I am not the most...
I have to ask, has anyone put an athens through the ringer. I know the legend owns one of the older athens. Maybe thats all I need to know? That bow looks fantastic, reason I ask is atleast for me the mountain tend to be mean to equipment even when I try to be nice.
Just like the title says, How many bows do you own? Is there a bow you sent on its way you wish you could have back?
I own an Elite Energy 35 and a Hoyt RX4 ultra. Only bow I've sent down the road that I wish I could have back is my Hoyt Vectrix. I really loved that bow and miss it. I might...
