I decided to go with a Borah 9x9. I can’t speak on quality yet but their customer service was great answering all my questions. For line loks I plan on attaching the ones from lite outdoors. They have 1.8mm rope that works with them so there’s not much of a weight penalty. Tie them on with a...
I ended up going with a borah gear 9x9. I added a few extra tie outs and it put it right at $150. He said it will be just over 13oz. Can’t speak to the quality or performance yet but I’ve read nothing but good reviews about the company.
For anyone on the fence, give them a try. I ordered the sss & 2-5 and both seem like they will add value to my hunts without a big weight penalty. Together they are under 10oz.
For me I’d have to attach a day bag to the frame of the scabbard with a load shelf between the two. I’m just not sure how well it would carry with a load of meat that far away from your body. It’s interesting for sure.
Does anyone have experience with these boots? From my understanding they both use the felt liners but the voyagers are a little slimmer. I’ve seen a few reviews on the mountaineer but haven’t seen any on the voyager.
I wanted to upgrade the stock on my savage but couldn’t find anyone to inlet for them. It’s a long action. Pure precision has a stock that will fit a long action savage but there’s only one stock option. You can try Boyd’s too if wanting something cheaper.
Good review. What temperatures did you wear these in on the low side? Were you able to compare these to the sawtooth Or a pac style boot? So you sized down and still had room for the kennetrek liner and a heavy wool sock? Those liners are pretty thick.
