I own a custom unaweep and a peregrine, as well as a couple of shelters. I’ve owned and used all of the major pack brands with the exception of SG and I think the seek outside packs are considerably more comfortable for me and the quality and adjustability are second to none. The overall...
I can see that I suppose. I’m not defending or calling out any of them, don’t really care one way or another. I have a little of most of them. I’ll continue to use what I like and assume all of them have anterior motives 😁
Just food for thought, I’ve bought gear in the past because I liked it. Then later the brand or owner, whatever said or did something really stupid and it made me want to sell it and replace it with another company. After about the third or fourth time that happened I’ve come to the conclusion...
Agreed! I grew up in south Louisiana and spent my entire life being outside as much as I could. I now live in the Appalachian’s and we don’t have cotton mouths here, thankfully! I don‘t kill venomous snakes and I can appreciate them. That being said, if I’m late to church and see a cotton...

Although I think all of Gene and Barry’s books are great!
I used the pop up 28 for years. Works great for packing stands and sticks. The 38 may be a little bit big for early season but I think it would be great for late season, and…. “better to have and not need it…..”
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. A few years ago sitka gear was in the same boat and everyone was pissed about staffers or whoever posting anit 2A rhetoric, and now you never hear about it anymore.
As stated above, gun or bow makes a difference. I only bow hunt and 99% of my hunting is with a mobil set up in the south East Tennessee mountains. A good backpack or pack frame is pretty important, but you can make it work. With a boned out whitetail being about 40lbs or so, it’s not a major...
Don’t overlook cabelas Berber fleece. Not expensive, compared to the high end stuff, and a little on the bulky size. I own quite a bit of the “higher end stuff” and the Berber fleece jacket and pants are my go to for the cold snaps we get in east Tennessee.
I’m buy the vast majority of my gear on sale or through classified, etc…. I do have quite a bit of gear from companies like OR or Patagonia. And I hear a lot of guys say the non hunting companies are less expensive, but i haven’t found that to be he case.
But I think there are more and more...
I think SO makes a bag specifically for tepee storage that has compression straps built into it. For what it’s worth, I just carry my redcliff in the sack it came in and when I compress my pack everything compresses down nicely.
