By far I like my 7x collection the most, they are very stable even when my heart rate is up or it’s extremely windy out, they have big FOV, great depth of view, and easy on the eyes. I normally only mount binoculars when I’m glassing a long period of time or I want to extend the range of the...
i have a set of Nikon Oceanpro 7x50 that are excellent in dusk and are my favorite astronomy binoculars
I know there are very high regards for the Steiner 8x56 shadowquest
maven C1 they are surprisingly good for the price. I really didn’t think I would like them. They were part of mavens demo program and I landed up keeping them at the end of the demo
I always say big views start at 15x
However, after getting 12x42 last year the number of compromises they offer are really growing on me. They are smaller and lighter then 15x, decent field of views, can still be handheld, can see for miles on a tripod, work good on a monopod too, and can be...
Possibly
but the ED50 has a long history for a reason and I couldn’t believe what I was looking at when I first got one
with that said I wouldn’t use any scope for PRS matches or long glassing sessions. I much prefer high powered bino's by a long shot…..you can’t beat the brighter image...
I’ve seen some arguments on bird forums that the ED50 is neck and neck with the Kowa
I never tried the Kowa but the ed50 with fixed eyepieces are amazing, for $500 it has to be the cheapest near alpha, if not alpha glass out there
Every PRS Mach I’ve been to…..spotters have been mostly replaced by mounted 12x or 15x bino’s
a mile for 15x bino is where it shines………. I even go out to two miles or more (not counting tines though)
I use a red dot on my Tikka T1x out to 100 yards…… It’s crazy accurate!!!
it’s zeroed for a six o’clock hold at 50 yards
with the 3 MOA dot, I use the bottom of the dot at 100 yards
I think you need to buy and try them both. Many Leica lovers fall in love with the saturated views and would only want the “Leica look” . Maven are amazing in their own right but have a different view
