great pair of binoculars
I like my Kowa 6.5x32 better for its sharper sweet spot, brighter image, and larger FOV. But the maven has the better edge to edge clarity
It’s a very old tradition in African elephant hunting. …..Donald Trump Jr. was bashed by anti hunters for doing the same thing. I don’t see it any different then antlers or taxidermy heads
Both are nice, I think it depends how much range you need to determine which magnification
many 18x sacrifice very little FOV compared to their 15x counterpart. Some actually exceed the AFOV compared to 15x
plus you can see the ring in good 18x binoculars, where Saturn is just a football in 15x
As far as I want to
people forget that the militaries around the world used fixed power scopes for a very long time on sniper rifles and many still do
even modern designated marksman make 600 yard hits with their fixed 4x Acog
there is a YouTube channel called nine hole reviews. The shooter...
Fixed magnification makes your life easier.
Familiarity of target size at range, brighter image, lighter weight, simplicity, wider field of views, smaller eyepiece, etc..
Try a maven 6x30, Leica 7x35, Kowa 6.5x32….the extra exit pupil is more comfortable and brighter for low light condition. Plus they are very stable hen your heart rate is up or it’s windy outside
I like putting red dots on my 22lr. Using a six o’clock hold gives very impressive accuracy results. I use a 12 o’clock hold for hundred yards to compensate for drop
Check out this guys YouTube channel. He reviews alpha and next tier binoculars. He is a professional photographer and hunter that has an eye for perfection
he will be the first to tell you that the difference is getting smaller and smaller these days
here he compares more affordable trinovids...
Mavens are really really nice glass…… so are Leica trinovids, Nikon HG, Meopta, etc…
put on a tripod and you will blow away an alpha that is being handheld
