you can for a limited time…..but honestly I like my 12x better if I’m looking to freehand or use a monopod.
but once you put 15x on a tripod a whole new world opens up
Have you checked to see if your binoculars are collimated?
I have a 5-6 mile view in my backyard and my Mavens can pick up deer well up to around 2 miles
Optics are like guns and cars…..everyone has their favorites
its best just to buy them all…your eyes tell you immediately which one you want and just return the others
you need to try the binoculars because the color saturation and edge to edge clarity on the monarch 7 are pretty nice too.
the Maven does color saturation too but with slightly better sharpness and edge to edge clarity then the Nikon. But has more CA and not as sharp in the central area as the...
using a six o’clock hold dramatically increases the accuracy of red dots
I use a larger dot at closer range for faster dot acquisition and my astigmatism doesnt create a starburst effect on larger dots
if you need more accuracy go with a finer MOA dot or a reflex sight with a chevron or triangle
look at different sights to see what works best for you. Especially if you have an astigmatism.
I like 3 MOA for 100 yards and 6 MOA for range closer in
I haven’t tried the APM, but I own other porro prism 6-7x binoculars and they can’t compete with the Kowa for light transmission.
I can see the North American nebula with my Kowa in light polluted sky which I can’t see at all in my porro
the Kowa are popular for a reason
I have the Kowa 6.5 x32 and the maven 6x30
both are great but the Kowa are better. They are sharper, less Eye fatigue, do better in low light situations, wider field of view etc…
the only benefit of the maven 6x30 is a warmer color saturation (if that’s your thing), better outer edge quality...
just about any 18x binoculars, even cheap $200 porro design Pentax 20x60 (really rated at 18-19x)
but they do need to be mounted on a tripod to see the ring on Saturn
they have small objectives because its low magnification….even at 6x power you still have a 4mm exit pupil. About the same as a 10x42 binocular. ….so it’s not as bad as you think it is
What is there not to like..LPVO benefits are
1. zero magnification at base setting, making the scope as fast as a red dot sight
2. lightweight (some only weigh 9 ounces)
3. more compact then regular scopes
4. With the standard hunting rule of needing 1x of magnification for each hundred yards...
I’m selling Maven C1 12x42 binoculars For $295. These are named one of the “10 Best Binoculars of the Year” by Field and Stream and winner of the Outdoor Life “Great Buy Award,”. I can glass game at 1-2 miles away easily on a tripod with these. Hardly used and I’m only selling to fund other...
After decades of mountain biking/hiking/hunting in the woods.
it’s been my experience that the guy who DOESN'T bring a backpack or a small pack tends to be problematic. They tend to be inexperienced and are the first ones with injuries, gear malfunction, suffer dehydration, depleted of...
