I actually went FROM a Christensen Ridgeline in 7RM to Tikka in 7-08 that I built up. The Christensen was a good shooter but I couldn’t get past how sloppy the action was and it was a fair bit heavier than I wanted.
No opinion on left handed rifles, but I did what you are describing for the same reasons. I am extremely impressed with the 7-08 and wish I had done it sooner. I shoot the same bullet that I was in the 7RM (162 ELD) but it is more in the sweet spot of it's expansion velocity range from 0-600...
+1 for the Prochrono DLX. Mine has yet to miss a reading and the numbers have been accurate as far out as I have shot. (600 yards)

Sparked my curiosity after reading the MIL vs MOA thread. Celsius to me makes so much more sense than Fahrenheit but it seems most Americans use the latter.
Yeah I'm sure my internet in the far north isn't nearly as fast as most places so they were probably nearly sold out by the time my connection picked it up 😂
I had a few boxes of Precision Hunter that wouldn't chamber in a Tikka 7-08 as well. They were all from the same lot#. Store exchanged them for newer lot# and all have chambered just fine since.
