Good data collection.
Did you shoot one entire box, followed by the next, and so on? Curious, as the first 2-5 shots of some of your velocity graph lines seem noisier than the next 15. Wondering if the bore condition could still be settling in to a new powder/jacket combination.
12-16 Oz. Wouldn't recommend it for others until they've shot and hunted enough to have their own opinions. No problem shooting them in gloves, but when the hands go numb that's a different story. There is some liability, and I accept the tradeoffs.
My standout (haven't done much with budget guns in years) is a Ruger American Predator in 22LR.
It would shoot mid-priced ammo into MOA for 10 rds, and the function was perfect. Sold it to a good friend for an eventual T1x upgrade.
I've been hunting with a 6 Dasher in a MPA Ultralight, the Bravo will replace the MPA if I like it enough after playing with it, with the polymer vs aluminum in hand being a contributing factor.
My other hunting setup is a 22BR built on a Tikka CTR that has the CTR stock as it shows up with the...
There are aspects of a stock or chassis that are clearly good or inferior from a mechanical standpoint; like how high the top of the butt sits vs the bore of the rifle (higher being better IMO) and how parallel the fore-end and bottom of the buttstock is vs the bore (more parallel being better...
No personal experience, though I haven't heard of issues stabilizing 88's in a 1-8 at 22 Creed speeds from friends.
That said, some thoughts:
Thick air is harder to stabilize bullets in. Colder air is thicker air, all else equal.
Bullets launched with a slower muzzle velocity are less...
Some additional data. I had mostly moved on from 6.5's to 6's (and just recently 22's) by the time I got more interested in terminal ballistics, so I don't have autopsy pics or wound specifics, but I do have pretty good notes on the shots and the results. Some of the following are from family...
That rifle weighs ~ 11 lbs as pictured. I've shot some big bodied deer, and he's easily the most likely to have succumbed to Type 2 Diabetes if I hadn't shot him first. With two of us on that hill we could barely move him for pictures.
Starting velocities were 2790-2880 fps just depending on...
I've had very good results with 6mm's the last handful of years. I also punch a lot fewer tags than I used to. Here's what I and some friends and family have taken with my 6mm's. Nothing has gotten away, nor close.
WY Antelope
6 Dasher
108 ELD
~440 yds (this one’s from memory)

After the cost of 20,000+ rds of ammo, plus any costs associated with shooting that much (travel, tags, match fees) the cost of a factory Tikka is approaching a rounding error.
Pretty cool overall, love to see good equipment get well used. I did have a shooting partner break a bolt stop pin...
Those powder lines aren't made by the same facility, or even in the same country. So, unfortunately, it won't increase the supply of the H-series powders.
I have the Cabela's branded Meopta 12x50's, they're probably a couple updates back at this point. They've sold a few pairs letting people look through them at matches and hunting. I would slightly prefer either Swaro 12x, but definitely not enough to justify the cost difference for me. I...
I have the scope/reticle combination in question.
I find the reticle to be thin for my taste, but usable. I also wouldn't choose their specific pattern of hashes (I prefer the ZCO reticles and the Kahles SKMR's) but again it's quite usable.
Mine has been solid, including drop testing. I...
I absolutely prefer reference points to put me in the ballpark.
When I'm zeroing or testing, I'll actually take the time to dial it out properly.
When I'm shooting things that count (competitions which have fixed time limits, or animals that have unknown time limits) I've never dialed it out...
Manage recoil such that I can spot my own shots. I'm not interested in any rifle setups that don't allow this reasonably.
Bipod prone at 1000 yards is about as forgiving as it gets in my opinion. Also, plywood behind your target makes it almost impossible. A good dirt berm directly behind it...
I found the glass to be just fine in mine, similar enough to the SS 3-9 that if there was a difference I don't remember it.
I did think the eyebox got tight on top. I usually stopped at 12x and called it good. I think of it as a functional equivalent to the LRHS 3-12 but with older style...
