    Sleeping Pads

We have an updated line at EXPED this year. Ultra and Dura would the two I'd focus on. Pick the r-value you need 3, 5, or 7/8 and then pick your size. Bonus for this year, the LW is the same price as the Medium! Stock is just now starting to arrive so you'll see it on our site and at retailer...

    Air mattress alternative

EXPED MegaMat, your wife and dog will both thank you. They utilize foam and air which helps to eliminate the "bounce" effect when someone rolls or moves. On top of that, your air mat has 0 insulation, MegaMat will get you an 8.1. https://www.expedusa.com/collections/basecamp-mats

    Truck camping sleeping pad

Another vote for the EXPED MegaMat. Or if you want to save a few bucks for an extra tank of gas, the DeepSleep 7.5 is a solid option as well. Both come in MW (26x72) and LXW (30x78) sizes depending on truck bed size.

X Wide Sleeping pad 38"-40" ish?

I'm not sure anything with the length requirement actually exists. We (EXPED) makes the MegaMat Duo M or the DeepSleep Duo M, but they are 72"x40", so they fall short of your height requirement but exceed the width you are after. MegaMat Lite LXW is ~32" wide, probably the widest single person...

    thermarest Z-lite/nemo switchback pad question

If you value sleep, comfort, and recovery you'll stick with an airmat and get a CCF to place under your foam mat for additional R-Value and protection. If you enjoy waking up stiff, sore, and beat up then go ahead and sleep on the CCF.

    Backpacking newbie. Gear questions

Any mat brand worth buying will have an ASTM rating for their R-Value - this means that their R-Value is certified, 3rd party. Same goes for sleeping bags and their EN Rating, again this is 3rd party rated. Currently for mats EXPED, Thermarest, Sea To Summit, Nemo, and Big Agnes all use ASTM for...

    One sleeping system fora beginner.

Buy once cry once. Everyone has a budget, but by the best you can afford and upgrade as you see fit. Good gear costs money, and if you buy right the first time, you wont have to continue coming back asking questions about what to get next. Sleep is a huge portion of your trip and helps in...

Therm-a-rest, Nemo, Sea to Summit- Another comparison..

I'm pretty confident the reputable brands will submit the truth for their rating. EXPED has been independently tested since 2001, the founder has been pushing for an industry standardization since that time. If a brand is unwilling to test to ASTM standards, that is where I'd be hesitant in...

Therm-a-rest, Nemo, Sea to Summit- Another comparison..

SynMat Winterlite HL MW - ASTM certified R5 3.5" thick, perfect year round mat. The big brands all have their mats independently certified for R-Value - big brands being EXPED, Nemo, Big Agnes, Thermarest, Sea To Summit. Keep that in mind during your shopping

Home Gym what should I get?

I picked up my squat rack late November including bar and plates from Fringe sport. My only regret is getting the squat stand rather than a cage. I feel like storage options on the cage plus stability with pull ups, etc is better on a cage. Free shipping and they had gear in stock, which was a...

    Best hydration products???

Nuun and Scratch are my go to choices when I want some flavor and electrolytes in my water for running, cycling, and backcountry trips. Nuun is super convenient for the backcountry. I've also felt that the Daily Nuun has done a damn good job of helping to fight off colds.

Adding warmth to a sleeping bag

I've put it out there before, but your EN rated sleeping bag needs a mat/pad of R-Value 4.8 to truly hold to it's EN rating. Food for thought

    Budget 0 degree bags

With a quality pad that has a certified r-value do they really need 0F bags? Find a EXPED, Nemo, or Thermarest witha 5.0 r-value and a 15-20F bag should work just fine for most any season. Happy to have you tell me otherwise, but you didn't mention season or location when the hunt(S) would occur

    Sleeping pad for warmth

Which mat are you currently using? Do you know the r-value? What temps will you be getting down to at night. Adding a closed cell foam (CCF) UNDER your current sleeping mat can add anywhere from 1.5-2+ in r-value depending on which model CCF you use. We sell two different models, one designed...
