I'm looking to get some opinions or comparisons of these two packs. Looking for a day pack for predator hunting mostly but also some regular hiking with the family. I know there's a 4-in difference in frame height plus the mini keg has the duplex suspension. I'm actually liking the shape charge...
I loved my X-curve frame. Hate their bags. Just received my EXO 1800 w/lid this morning. Really liking it!!! Will test this week with weight to truly see. But so far 👍👍👍
I have a storm 350. Few years old. Incredible light. The spot uses AAA. The storm uses AA. I try to make sure all my electronic gear use the same size batteries. Just easier that way
I just ordered an 1800 with a lid. Should be here this weekend. Being in New York. I don't need a large pack. 99% is the day hunting. I want to be able to use it for hiking with the family as well. Hopefully next year I can get away for a long weekend or more. In that case I would order the 4800...
You can go on to Amazon and buy the velcro by the roll. Cost you a few dollars and you can cut it to length. It's a narrow double-sided Velcro meant to be used for this type of purpose. I bought a roll years ago and use it on every backpack and sling pack I have
Pop up is so nice as a day pack because it is so compact. But can be extended to carry some weight. I love my 38. But I live on the East Coast and mostly do all day trips and it has served me for a weekend backpacking as well.
You can make the webbing a hundred inches long. That doesn't mean the belt is going to fit correctly. When the large / extra large belt covers 34 to 54. That's pretty piss-poor. So the belt will fit a 34-in individual correctly! If someone was to actually be 50 in or more. The padding would be...
The only thing that stinks with Kuiu is They only have two belt sizes. They don't favor bigger guys at all. Always wanted to give one a try for the heck of it but a belt rated for 34 in up to 54 doesn't work
I completely agree. The large / extra large is not overly big at all. For a big guy like myself. Mystery Ranch going from four individual sizes. To three combined sizes. Does not benefit the big guy at all. For everyone else if it's just fine
MR is still bomb proof! Exo is much lighter in weight. HOWEVER... If those are your two choices. Buy both. Carry around your house. Whichever one is most comfortable...SHIP THE OTHER ONE BACK!
They can definitely get you a belt. The only thing that sucks with mystery ranch now is they changed their belt sizing. Instead of having small, medium, large, extra large. Now they've combined them into three sizes small medium, medium large, and large extra large. I can't stand when companies...
