Agreed. I would like the internal frame Timberline 3 as well, since I have some pack animals now and don't need the space. Also I would like a 24" frame length Woodsman, with slot pockets on the side for long items, and 3 independent sets of compression straps somewhat like the Reckoning.
I just saw this. Yeah, it is under the harness all of the time. It is pretty comfortable, more so than I expected, especially with a revolver. I wear it like that nearly every weekend from April until rifle season.
I had a belt rig before, didn't enjoy. When I hiked with it, it pulls down...
I have a Ruger GP 100, very similar to the 329. I recently went to the Gunfighters Inc holster after trying many other carry methods. It doesn't interfere very much with the bino harness, I find it fairly comfortable. That is going to be my preferred carry method for the foreseeable future.
I feel if they were close enough to take a shot, they were also close enough to walk over there and take a look. That did not look like a responsible shot from my perspective.
I think you’ll be just fine with the MR. I have a couple of the top brands, but there’s a couple things I miss about my old MR. I’m pretty sure you can pack meat between the frame and bag with a Terraframe.
I use Grangers and like it, although it doesn't last very long. It does last longer than Nikwax IMO. There are some other products that provide a longer lasting waterproofing, but I feel those products will eventually delaminate the soles and rands on most newer boots.
I get 2-3 seasons out of the Ancash and Alaskans. I tend to call them worn out when the rubber rand/leather shrinks after a few seasons, I will just get a new set at that time.
