What rifle is missing stock options?

Ruger American, not sure if the stocks are different between the gen1 and 2. They are great guns that are more accurate than they should be for the price. The factory stocks on gen1s are pretty terrible though.

Quick Release rings that return to zero

That's That's likely what will be on it anyways, but a lot of times when I'm hunting that real thick stuff it's because the weather is bad. Rain and or snow. Which dealing with a scope in that kind of weather just sucks. If I'm just sitting there in a static position it's not bad, but when...

Sitka dewpoint vs OR Foray vs Forloh airalight

A little post season update: I ended up with the Sitka Dewpoint. Found one on sale at a great price and have had great luck with Sitkas products over the years so I had confidence buying it. I used it very little on my MT hunt, outside of a windbreaker when it got single digits and windy...

Quick Release rings that return to zero

Does anyone have any experience with quick release rings that return fairly close to zero? Fairly close to me would be 1 MOA or so shift being acceptable. Maybe even a little more. I have a rifle I'd like to set up this way for a particular location I hunt. Sometimes where I sit the max shot...

Low power scope that will hold zero for a pump rifle

I have this scope with the MOA hunter reticle. I wouldn't consider the reticle usable in timbered areas of the Midwest. May pick up a duplex version if I don't find anything with less magnification.

Low power scope that will hold zero for a pump rifle

All this losing zero talk has me wondering. I have a 35 Whelen Rem 7600 in need of a scope. I had always planned on putting a leupold 2-7 or 1.5-5 on it. As they're proving to be less and less reliable, what is a good replacement for a non dialing hunting scope with low magnification and doesn't...

Sold Redfield Revolution 2-7x33 Accu-range reticle

I have a Redfield revolution 2-7x33 with what I believe is the Accu-range Reticle. It's a lot like a leupuld LR duplex but with a circle around the crosshair. I like the scope, but I doesn't really have a place in my set ups now. Scope is in nice shape with just faint ring marks where it was...

Normal for volume of powder to change with different lots?

I've been loading for a 30-06 for a little bit. Worked my way through 1 partial pound of reloader 15, then a full one. Charge weight is 55.0gr. My thrower throws right at 54.9 or 55.0 pretty consistently. I opened up the second new pound of powder and now it throws at 54.4 or 5 every time. Is...

Sitka dewpoint vs OR Foray vs Forloh airalight

Thanks for the replies. I'm not up to speed on the technical aspects of the different fabrics. I do remember reading the forloh is 3 layer though. @Desk Jockey is your sitka a dew point or a different model

Sitka dewpoint vs OR Foray vs Forloh airalight

Looking for a durable rain jacket to keep in the pack for rain events and periods of heavy snow. I belive all 3 of these jackets have similar features. Does one (or another similar jacket) stand out for durability or breathability? Don't really care about camo either way. Weight isn't a huge...

Ring on brass as case head failure indicator

I checked the ammo box theory, but the lines don't match up. I felt all the cases with a sharpened and bent paperclip, did not noticed anything with that method. I have no idea, I will load a few of them and see if it gets worse or more noticeable on the next firing. I will also look into the...

Ring on brass as case head failure indicator

Bolt lift is normal, no brass swipe marks on headstamp, primers not flattened, no excessive primer flow around where firing pin contacted primer.

Ring on brass as case head failure indicator

I see the color variation where the die isn't making contact on the brass base, but above that there is a faint ring above that 1/4" or so. It's a bit darker in color than the rest of the brass. I'm not sure how far the shoulder is getting bumped. I'll have to look up how to do that. I just...

Ring on brass as case head failure indicator

Novice reloader, was sorting brass and noticed my 2x fired Norma brass has a ring around the case where 1x fired (first firing was factory loaded) doesn't have the ring. My load is book max but shows no pressure signs. Cases are FL sized Is that ring always an indication of case head failure? I...
