I have been hunting with one of mine for a year and shot in three field matches (NRL Hunter style, ~150 rounds each) with no issues. One match this year was in very windy and dusty conditions. It was blowing up to 30 MPH and dust was just about filling the action (since bolts have to be back...
Building rifles from a Bighorn Origin is NOT a huge undertaking (in my opinion) if you use shouldered prefit barrels. It is quite simple, and in the end you have a top notch rifle that you know inside and out because you assembled it. I also find that it is a major source of pride when you...
I am by no means an experienced rifle builder, but I built a 6.5CM with a Bighorn/Zermatt Origin action and I loved it so much that I decided to build a hunting rifle with another Origin. I built the hunting rifle in 300 WSM. I used a SS barrel on the 6.5CM and went with a Proof shouldered...
Thank you for all of the input everyone. I really appreciate it. I decided to avoid the work associated with a wood stove and went with a Hilleberg Nallo 3. After evaluating my sleep habits and sensitivities I decided that a four season double wall tent would be most likely to keep me warm...
A couple of threads on the topic that I found interesting a while back.

How do you feel the recoil mitigation was with the 6ix on the 6.5 PRC? And how about the 8ight on the 300 PRC? I'm curious to hear about that aspect of them. Were you able to spot misses and impacts with the 6ix on the 6.5 PRC?
Grisha, do you know
Grisha, do you know which Gunwerks can you were shooting with? The 6ix or the 8ight?
And does anyone have any longer term reviews of the Gunwerks 6ix and 8eight suppressors? I am trying to decide which one to get.
That is helpful, and some good questions to consider. Some of the same things I have been considering as well. Right now I am leaning toward a ~2 person double wall shelter for just myself, as I do like to sleep in my own space. I do like to have space to hang out and talk, but if I'm...
I know this is an older thread but where do you put the candle lantern for it to work well? I have been considering the same tent and using a candle lantern, so I'm curious where you put it. Does it work well inside the "nest" or in the vestibule?
Forgive me if I don't post the video quite correctly. I have another thread about the temperature of floorless vs 4-season tents, but in my continued research I came across this YouTube video, and it looks interesting. It's a 4-season tunnel style tent that he added a stove jack to in the...
Interesting test you performed there...even though you were in your backyard, that is brave in -40F! So do you feel that the stove can be used to heat the tent all night long? I seem to have gotten the sense that most people don't look at it that way, that the stove is too much work to use it...
I have been scouring Rokslide for quite a while now to help me determine what tent to buy for backpack hunting in 15-30 deg F temperatures. I have found great information, but one question still seems to keep surfacing for me and I haven't quite found the answer. I am curious from those of you...
Yeah I agree, they are shaped kind of strangely. Since the AGC pack is shaped more for traditional binos, instead of the longer narrower profile of the Zulu, the binos have space on the sides of them in that pack.
I used to use the Alaska Guide Creations Cub pack for some smaller binos. I tried to use it with the Zulu6 16x and they do fit but it is tight and the lid doesn't completely overlap at the front near the latch. I didn't like the setup. Then I got the AGC Alaska Classic Max and it fits very...
I just posted in this thread too:

But here it is again:
I just recently acquired a set of Sig Sauer Zulu6 16x42mm binos as a gift. They are not something that I would have ever considered...
I just recently acquired a set of Sig Sauer Zulu6 16x42mm binos as a gift. They are not something that I would have ever considered purchasing, but I am amazed at how well the image stabilization works and how good the glass is for the price point. I have only gone on one elk hunt with them...
