Thanks, I too find the scope cam easiest to deal with and adjust from bino's to spotter very well.
I love optics and read the optics forum every day. Over that time I've gained a lot of respect for the guys who post in the optics forum on a regular basis. Guys like tdhanses, AZ_Hunter_2000...
I was going to suggest the kowa 553 but since you mentioned that you love to digiscope I decided not to mention it. Nice spotter for saving weight but will not in my opinion take the place of digiscoping with the swaro ATS. As far as I know kowa does not make a 66 so you have to jump to the 77...
I have not tackled this issue but its been on my mind for a different idea. But these ideas might help you out. Video enthusiast have been there and done that with almost everything optic oriented. So research video camera tree stand mounts or something similar.
I went from EL to EL Range without TA. What I found was that I had to focus the el range a lot more often as I moved my binos at different distances. I found that the el's had a better view than the el range. So I'm interested in this kind of comparison. Thankyou for asking. Fatrascal.
Personally I use a scope cover and when I put the ocular rubber piece over the lens then I put this cover on over it. I leave the plastic swarovski cover that goes over the objective lens off and use only the after market cover. Fatrascal.
35WhelenAI, thanks for the heads up and I had seen that up above. Just passing on what was on the box. Still a good deal as a gift in a Big Buck contest considering the Vipers are normally a $499 binocular. They will be used as a second place prize in 4 different categories. The Diamondbacks...
Got three Diamondbacks which are made in China and four Vipers assembled in the Philippines with 341' fov all from Cabelas Black Friday sale. They will be prizes in a Big Buck Contest me and mt wife put on in Spring Creek, Nevada. Fatrascal.
JGRaider, was not trying to put Meopta in a bad light as I actually love Meopta and used to have a Meopta made Cabela Euros about 10 years ago. Im sure they are even better now. And yes I agree that Bushnell is not even in the same universe as swarovski, meopta, leica, kowa and many other...
Back to the debate. I may have told this story before but its been awhile. I once was hunting with a rich friend who could afford anything he wanted but could not see any difference between his binoculars and my binoculars. He had Bushnell and at the time I had first generation swaro el's. I'll...
All are great answers and great contradictions and this is exactly what the original poster wanted. What may seem to be a small or frivolous difference to one person may be the deciding factor for another. Wether that be optical quality, weight, ergonomics. Many times in these conversations we...
Very good and fair write up. I also owne the kowa 55 except in 553 angled. I personally feel like it is not as good optically as a swaro ats 65 but its good enough to leave the swaro at home if you are trying to cut weight which is why I got it. But I love to digiscope and find myself still...
