I use a Garmin striker as well and would recommend it over a flasher because it does that too. Battery lasts days on high. Only issue I've had with mine is interference from buddies flashers.

I built one back in '17 with a window unit and coolbot. There's a thread on the 'slide of my build somewhere. Have not had a single issue and it runs from Aug-Dec most years. I did a 90 day age on an elk rear last year that turned out amazing.
Room = ambient cool room temperature
Fins = sensor...
I hunt elk every year.
3 buddies and I will be in <5 pts pool for WY gen elk. 1 week archery in Sept then come back for a week with the rifle if we cannot all get it done.
I'll pick up a UT bull elk tag, wife will draw a late season cow tag

Pintler user here! Been using it since the '18 season when it was on the original guide light frame. MR CS upgraded me to the improved guide light MT frame when I needed to warranty it last season (one of the stays wore through in a section that is now much more reinforced). The waist band is...
08 Chevy Colorado 3.7L i5 with 149K on it. Bought it with 59K and have only done fluids, front brakes, front and rear struts, water pump, some lightbulbs, and a few sets of tires. I rally the shit out of it and she still keeps going.

We just picked these up after trying them on at Scheels. No time in the field yet but I'll also bring hand warmers to stuff in the fold over mitten flap just in case.

Update: Picked up a Kowa 553 instead of the 15s to start. Reason being that I'll be buying really nice 8s or 10s to replace my vipers so I wanted something with the ability to zoom in.
I'm having analysis paralysis on what I want to get next though. I'm leaning towards 8x ELs... The 8x Meostar...
Looks like he took quite the slide!
Do you have a shot of the skull without the hide? Looks like he's got a rearranged pedicle!

Thanks for the recommendation on the Apoxie Sculpt, stuff is amazing. I still need to paint up the antler but that compound is super easy to work with, way better than the liquid 2 part epoxy I was thinking of using.
Curious about the maintenance comment here, Form. I know you spend way more days in the field than most, but what is the main reason(s) you need to send Swaros in?
I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger on some 15x56 Meostar B1 Plus' based on reviews and recommendations and current sales going...
We pulled 92# of boned out meat off my wife's buck this year. That's the highest yield we've had and he was a hell of a large bodied buck.

Personally, I would wait if you can. Prices have already come down and if things get ugly you could probably scoop up a great boat for a smoking deal.
You could also buy the one for $2K, learn a new skill of re-glassing a boat, see what you like or don't like about the boat, and then decide...
