Yea, I'm sure the non-elected officials appointed by the governor whose husband is staunchly anti-hunter will be sure to listen to hunters and their advocacy groups.
Remember the dumb look on that guy's face when they were releasing wolves? He's the one stacking these committees with people who...
As a CO resident myself, I'm now convinced that I have to move. There are now less and less opportunities in the state and to hunt out of state, I'm subject to states that actually treat their residents right and prioritize them with 90/10 allocations.
Can someone make early season deer in CO make sense to me?
Aug 15th - New first season archery
Sep 2nd - "Normal" season archery
Sep 7th - Early rifle
Sep 14th (moving target, but this is where it falls this year) - Muzzleloader
Why would anyone hunt these alpine units with a muzzleloader when...
So no spring bear season, mountain lion hunting trying to get banned, and now I have to draw for a crappy unit that was OTC the year prior, but someone with a gun can hunt it OTC.
While I'm excited to potentially hunt mule deer above timberline starting mid August, this is going to be the hunt...

Proposing to eliminate all OTC archery elk, but keep OTC rifle.

"I gut shot him first" vs. "I blew his leg off first" had to be my favorite argument of 2023.
If either of these clowns stayed to within a range ethical for their abilities (or lack thereof) this shitshow wouldn't have happened.
Also, I like a back bar because I tend to snag it before the string because I am an absolute klutz.
Somehow I have had successful stalks in the past, I tend to think I am the reason the average IQ of the CO mule deer population keeps increasing.
I tend to agree with this post, with a slight reputable that I think it's up to the hunter to ensure they are proficient with whatever weapon they choose (see my above post).
Even Bowhunter's Ed will agree with the fact that arrows don't create hydrostatic shock. Shot placement is so much more...
