Elk are as real as Big Foot

Bringing this back from the dead to let everyone know. I finally seen an elk last week. During Elk season all I saw was deer and moose. Hopefully the curse is broken now [emoji28][emoji1787] Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Total pack weight for 10 days.

I should mention. This is for 2nd season elk starting next weekend. I am a cold sleeper. I realize there's several areas that I can shed weight. For food I bought a bunch of freeze dried meals. Mainly living on those. Made it a point to focus on buying high calorie meals. I am also bringing...

Should also mention I'm considering my bino harness as part of my back pack. It's still weight on the shoulders... Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Total pack weight for 10 days.

Yea, I'm really starting to question these ultra light hunters. I mean, if I'm willing to spend thousands more on gear and take the absolute minimum of food and water. I could probably shave 10 pounds off. When I say "this is everything". I mean everything. Thank you for the answer! Hopefully...

How long does a repackaged Dehydrated meal last in a ziplock

I just repackaged 20 meals for a 10 day hunt. All MT House and Peak Refuel. Only saved 1# in weight. Now, the kicker is in the space savings. Couldn't fit all of them in one reusable shopping bag. After repackaging, they all fit easily. Plus the trash/dishes will be easy to clean up and hike out...

Total pack weight for 10 days.

Would you guys consider a total weight of 78.5lbs to be excessive. BackPack weight is 62#. This includes literally everything that I am taking down to underwear. This is for a 10 day hunt. The only places I can cut weight reasonably is the tent, pad, boots, and rifle. Even by cutting those I'm...

Elk are as real as Big Foot

So after a year of living in Colorado and getting into the mountains regularly. I have seen God knows how many big horn sheep, mountain goats, deer, pronghorns. 2 moose. Loads of bear sign. Deer in my camp every time I've camped. A pelican in Denver. Yet no elk. At this point I've wrote them off...

Bino harness should be under $100. Change my mind.

Dudes making them gotta eat to. I went with Alaska Guide Creations and have no regrets so far. I rather support small business. It fits great. Easy to forget it's there. Plus the extra pockets are good for the range finder and tripod accessorie. As well as scope cam mounts. Sent from my...

    Awesome Deal

I'm just getting in the game.... it's so damn expensive. Backpacks are $500-$1000. Good tent is $500+. Good bag is $500-$1000. I went with the quilt bag here. $1000 is becoming the new $1000 Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

    What Sleeping Bag?

Hey guys, thinking of just diving head first and getting a sequoia from Westerm Mountaineering. Meets both my requirements. On the expensive side but, I refuse to sacrifice comfort when sleeping. You'll never get me outa bed if I don't sleep right. Let alone hike all day on a mountain. Thanks...

    What Sleeping Bag?

Hey guys, new western mountain hunting and have no clue about bags. Looking to get a good sleeping bag. I'm in the buy once cry once camp. Anyways, I'm considering getting a 0° bag to use for all seasons. Looking at getting one I can use as a quilt for warmer nights. Any recommendations? Sent...
