Understood. I could have easily read the intent wrong.
I do occasionally deep clean my brass with SS pins. When I do this I lube the necks with neolube on the first loading after cleaning. After that the necks get burnished with a nylon brush until I decide to clean them again.

I rarely if ever brine. I inject with a full bottle of creole butter marinade.
Smoke at 235-250 until breast hits 158-160. I like a heavier smoke flavor so I normally do hickory or pecan wood.

So if competition shooters make their living by winning (per a previous poster a few posts back), and the scopes are such crap, then why would they continue to use them sponsored or not?
Marketing loves to brag about winning and if you aren’t winning, you’ll be dumped like a hot potato by the...
My wife’s Nightforce NX8 is currently back at Nightforce for wandering zero.
Guess NF can’t be trusted any more either.

I understand all that.
But the thread topic is Brass CLEANING process, so I responded to his question.
I didn’t hold a gun to anyone and say that HAVE to clean their brass.

I’ve had personal dealings with one of their owners and they aren’t as stand up as they may seem.
I’m not going into details here so don’t ask.
Be aware that ALL mono projectiles has a lower upset limit including Hammers.

Unlikely.
The best I’ve been able to get out of a 123ELDM is 2565 in a Howa mini 20” with a full case of CFE223.

If your goal is clean, shiny, brass nothing will beat wet tumbling with SS pins.
It is more time consuming but it will get your brass clean; including inside and primer pockets.

I’m way out of my lane here but Black Ovis has some as well.

I don’t own a RUM but I do own a 300NMI. Ballistically they are very close. The difference is the NMI doesn’t need a 4” mag box to be optimized like the RUM will.
Regarding the 338 Lapua, if you have a need to purchase factory ammo, it’s probably the better choice. If you are a reloaded based...
I agree it’s weird. I did some reading and found mixed opinions on it. What I do know is that a proven load for hundreds of rounds suddenly started showing pressure signs and I had to back down a full 2 grains to keep it from happening.

Well I say speed loss because I had to back my loads down to higher pressure. I originally thought it was a carbon ring but I scrubbed the chamber throat area down to bare metal and it didn’t change significantly.

As a follow up to this. My wife shot an antelope in Wyoming at 320 yards with her 6.5x47 Lapua. Final load velocity ended up at 2750 at the muzzle. Impact velocity was just under 2400fps.
He stood there and took the first one like a man, she put a second in about 2” from the first one and I...
