It's funny how everyone jumps to the political conclusions on anything like this.
Not saying I agree with the decision, but its not political. Its liability. If they say "yeah sure go ahead hike on in at your own risk", and a person hikes in and dies... how many of those hikers loved ones do...
I'm not against this bullshit in hopes to "stick it to the IRS" or whatever(although they probably deserve it). My issue is most gear sales are at a loss... if you lose a receipt you're screwed... and you have to keep that record for quite some time in case of audit.
IMO it's an undue hassle...

Its mind blowing that they charge a premium for what is, in my opinion and experience, a very substandard product. Things like the map download issues I'd expect from a lesser competitor... how is Gaia better while charging 60% less? Where is this extra money going if its not on product...
