Bowtech Support - Does it have to be this hard?

Well I guess I am seeing what a few of you "old timers" on here were trying to hint at about Bowtech... Really disappointing. So if you have seen any of my other articles, I recently decided to purchase and make my primary bow a Bowtech Revolt. I loved how it shot, felt, how forgiving at anchor...

Saddle Hunting - Tried this yesterday and it worked great...

N2TRKYS... This was my first concern I had with Saddle hunting. Until I did it a few times, I had your same concerns... Here is where my mind went after doing it: 1. On traditional tree stands, having used climbers to hang-ons, I would bet MOST hunters don't hang or climb with their associated...

    .001, .003, .006 Arrows Technically Why?

What is "consistency"? Consistency of groupings? Consistency of the arrow construction (what dimensions)? In the article below (granted not a large input study) a lot of interesting things were observed. Many of these I have witnessed in other tolerance domains such as casings, bullets, etc...

Saddle Hunting - Tried this yesterday and it worked great...

Didn't mean to violate any rules... I know this isn't a SH forum, but have seen and had a lot of SH discussion on here. Do I need to take this off to SaddleHunter.com?

Recovering Arrows... If this keeps up bullets are cheaper! :)

Not so much for me... Since my former SF days I use to shoot 5000+ rounds a day, many days, I don't have to shoot that many to "practice" to kill an animal at 100 yards-ish - or even 200 or 300 yards... Those are natural shots for me. Now if I plan on whacking crap at 1000 yards, yes I will tune...

    .001, .003, .006 Arrows Technically Why?

I have been reading up on the arrow tolerances and if there really are practical differences in match (typically .001), standard (typically .003) and economy (typically .006) arrows. Tons of sites and forum posts go back and forth on this issue with the opinions varying from "definitely makes a...

Saddle Hunting - Tried this yesterday and it worked great...

Probably some of you have done this or tried this. Did a quick search and didn't see any commentary on it... So I thought I would throw it out there. Yesterday about half way through my saddle-sit, I decided to try something. As a background I have the Tethrd Matis saddle, and as I have...

    Matthews Vertix - Review

Mine felt dead in my hand at first, but as I had to adjust my grip to get it to shoot right over the past year, that changed. I think Matthews, a lot like Glocks in the gun world, is not innovating - or innovating along very singular, restricted (what they know) lines. That is always sad for a...

    Matthews Vertix - Review

Not the first time I threw myself out of a perfectly good airplane to test the winds (wind dummy :) ).

Recovering Arrows... If this keeps up bullets are cheaper! :)

For something like a sheep hunt, or elk hunt where you will be shooting a few times a year at most - I agree. Unfortunately I am hooked on bow hunting now and even want to kill squirrels with my bow. Squirrels aside, my state limit on deer is 6 and if I lose every arrow that's about $100 for...

    Matthews Vertix - Review

Last year I bought a Matthews Vertix. I am new to bow hunting, last year was my 3rd year and previously I had used a Diamond SB Deploy (significantly upgraded) and a Mission Ballistic 2.0. Wanting to upgrade to a bit faster, flagship bow, I chose the Vertix. A year later, after putting about...

Bowtech Revolt - Cam Lean & Deadlock

So I am doing my final setup on my bowtech revolt after I have put about 70 arrows through it. The cycle and timing is perfect on it, however the cams have a slight lean to them. The deadlock system on these bows is not to address cam lean, or at least that is my understanding - it is to adjust...

Deer are fickle creatures - Why would it bypass food?

Depends of how much my victim (errr prey :) ) likes MacDs... :) No I get what is being said, the combination of behaviors was just odd... Food source (clearly being worked in day light - because the scat was too fresh), Multi source food source (rye, turnips and tons of acorns), Not really a...

Deer are fickle creatures - Why would it bypass food?

I would generally concur with you except for... 1. The deer actually traveled within 40 yards in full view (no cover) of the field, so safety kind of went out the door given that. If the deer had been 100+ yards away, I would have agreed. 2. This plot is in the back side of a small parcel that...

Recovering Arrows... If this keeps up bullets are cheaper! :)

Both had 2 holes in them that would indicate pass thrus... One I thought I saw the arrow fly out and hit some fallen tree and whizz off. I just can imagine an arrow passing through a deer and then having the velocity to go another 50 yards like a bat out of hell. I had to blood trail that one...

Recovering Arrows... If this keeps up bullets are cheaper! :)

Out of the stand... The first was around 20ish I would have expected to find it. Went back twice to the area and no Bueno. The second was about 35ish... I thought after the shot I saw something look like it hit a fallen tree behind it and go off into the woods. Not sure. I know I need to add...
