I know it will never happen, but I would love a 6500cu.in bag. I feel 6500 cu.in hits the sweet spot for 5 - 10-day hunts. My issue with the 7200 is the actual dimensions. Its 10.5" wide and 13" deep. To me that created more of a lever to pull you back.
I’m considering going from 5000 to 7200. I know @Mark at EXO and Steve steer most to smaller packs i just find it annoying at times to play Tetris with my gear in middle of night if I need to move quickly. Most seasoned backpack hunters know what they need and are taking the gear they need...
Some of the best bow hunters I know where solids. Wind and movement are far more important than camo. Obviously, I don't think camo hurts you, but if it doesn't help than I would buy what's on sale or solids so you can get Mutiple uses out of them.
You nailed it. I to sometimes wish I had the 7200 to to be able to throw gear in and go. However I did and 8 day trip in the k4 5000 with nothing strapped outside. I had everything in the pack including a 77mm spotting scope.but if I was doing anything more then 7-8 days I would jump to 7200...
You are not alone my friend with k3 slipping. I actually was going to go back to SG xcurve when I got a tip that the k4 was coming out. I decided to wait. Boy am I glad I did. I’ve had 100lbs in the k4 and it’s had zero slip. Honestly I really don’t know how you get a better fitting pack.
In your comparison I also used Kifaru duplex lite two years ago for a few hunts. I liked it and generally didn't have any issues. My main issue is I do not like Kifaru lids or how their load shelf works.
I have used Exo K2, K3 and now K4. Let's just say this I just texted a buddy this week and...
KUIU is top tier clothing and is right there with Sitka for durability. Each company has a piece or two that may not be as durable as others. I buy Sitka and KUIU for durability.
I think it has to do with body type as well. For instance the original strongfleece in size large fit great but were skin tight on my forearms. They have since corrected that. I am going to send back Katana pants. 32 didn't fit my waist and 34 are big in waist and tight in thigh. The size 34...
I agree with the prana. always started sagging in first day. However, I do not thing that holds true for every pant. This year I wore the sitka intercept pant and it has 14% spandex and I did not notice the pant getting baggy even after several days in a row.
Sitka came out this year with the Intercept pant which has large hip vent. I have pair and they were by far my favorite pair of pants. The hip vents are another 4 - 5' longer than KUIU and also doubles as access to knee pads. Now the down side is the hip vents do not have mesh so stuff did...
