not sure if you have used the Stone Glacier Chilkoot 15 sleeping bag but curious if be Sitka is a lot tighter in the shoulders. The SG is 64” circumference. Looks like this is 60”. However, not all measurements r created equal.
Sitka Core Merino 120 and be done. I have used KUIU, Stone glacier, Ice breaker, etc and the sitka merino 120 is best out of those. for being 120 wt is surprisingly durable. A couple of 7-day hunts and still no holes or tears.
wore the Kutana pants on all my hunts this year and although I like them, I have a couple of deal breakers. 1. the waist is way to stretchy. Like having to solely rely on a belt is annoying. 2. no sleeve for knee pads. 3. although i didn't get holes or tears the bottom half of the pants just...
I am not sure what type of treated down Peaks uses, but Sitka states Allied Feather ExpeDry. That is the latest and greatest in treated down. I have the same in my Katabatic quilts and does extremely well in moisture.
Your chart says peaks is 62” shoulder width. Peaks website says regular is 64” shoulder width. Be interested in knowing which is correct. That’s a big difference. Also, I noticed u mention 3 way zipper on peaks. The chart accidentally mentions it under Sitka.
Sitka core merino 120 has been very durable. It’s the armor spun tech that keeps its durable. Most companies are wrapping the Marino around a nylon core. Sitka is doing it different and wrapping nylon around the Marino actually protecting it.
Yup not sure what future holds for Sitka but I have several pieces and it's still very well built and high-quality stuff. I mean their new well last year new Armur spun merino wool line is not just hype. That stuff is tough and has been best merino out of the big hunting companies. Most...
You are making a good choice and won't be disappointed. Katana are also very tough. I just took mine on a 7-day hunt that ended up being all off trail and busting a lot of brush. Pants did not have any holes or tears, and I was surprised. And they dry stupid fast.
yes, I have gone back and forth on mesh vs no mesh and I have landed on wish they had mesh. I think main reason they didn't use mesh was to keep the feature of installing or removing knee pads while wearing the pants. Which won't lie is nice as I do not use knee pads all the time only when I'm...
Have both. Like stated above katana dry slightly faster and are cooler in hotter climates. My issue with Katana is the fit 32 waist fits me perfect, but the thighs are too tight. So, I went to 34 waist and have to use a belt, and the waist also seems to stretch out over a few days on a hunt. the...
Bought this tent 2 months ago used on 1 trip for 7 nights. This tent is the new version with sil-poly in lieu for of Sil-nylon. Sil-poly had better water resistance rating and does not sag when wet.
Only used 7 nights but I did have a branch fall on tent and put a small hole in fly which was...
