I'd certainly try it on sandbags and no bipod first. Certain bipod/rifle combos can be jumpy on such a hard surface.
But I'd also try other ammo too, often the middle of the road ammo shoots best when I use factory ammo. Hornady precision has worked well in several rifles. You just never know...
So what if a guy already has a very nice quilt he likes? Is this something you can add to the kit? Welp, I guess I better giver a goog and see what's up
I would venture to say that rucking weight should or can be tied to your actual strength numbers also. If your able to squat and deadlift in the 400+# range, your core, hips and legs especially posterior chain will handle more weight over longer times with less problems. Also , bodyweight...
Definitely not 215 berger😉. They are hard enough to find sometimes tho I'm good for now. Seriously, they've been great for me. Stuff just gets dead when hit , zero drama. Accurate and consistent.
Good , quality butter on chips after have the jerky, cheese, fruit whatever.
Used Amish butter roll mostly.
Really pads the calories.
The butter hits the spot in the hills.
I think my favorite lunch on any day but especially a cold one is the Peak biscuits n gravy.
I don't backpack too much but Tillamook sharp cheddar squares and a meat stick of some sort, and a pro bar makes a good snack.
Yeah I feel a little like a grizzly pinata having there.. But I feel like a bear burrito on the ground anyway 🤣. Have a very handy shelf in my hammock for my 44. I'm a wimp in country wit the bitey bears but are you nuts,I'm still gunna send it.
If you like em for comfort, great! I sleep very well in my warbonnet and I can generally NEVER sleep on my back on the ground or in bed. But I sleep great on my back hanging there.
BUT, as said above, you can get a lighter total weight with a ground set up.
Hammock, tarp, all the cordage...
Well...I'll just keep stuffing the big 88 in my pack for everything at this point but this is very neat!
I need to borrow my buddies swaro 55 for a weekend, see what I think. Then I'll check back in on this thread ...to see how bad I hate keeping my money around.
Many people just throw a wrap or two of electrical tape around it once your zeroed. I would like a stop on the elevation turret. The turrets have never moved on me while hunting.
Was this Tyler Freel where he hit it with 3 shots at 10 yards from a tree stand maybe, in seconds? Said it was over and bear dead in 7 seconds on his video he happened to have running. He hit well for sure and quickly. Used a partition I think. It made it get dead af as one would expect.
Yeah I'd say it sure shouldn't be heat. That's no pencil barrel. #4 is fairly heavy and brux is quality.
I'd not be afraid to try another powder or bullet. At least have another test set to try when you head out. Ooops forgot those aren't loaded by you.
Cow elk at 500 and nice pronghorn at 380. Same ole 215 berger, mv 2930 , 300 PRC , a bit behind the crease. Bang flop on PH, zero meat damage with that shot. Cow, same spot, ran 40 yards downhill and plowed a furrow in the snow. Good and boring. Maybe it's not a match bullet. Maybe it's a death...
