It's outfitter welfare full stop...you can go camp in wilderness right now with a gun in WY and it not against the law..so don't give this saftey BS. Its like corner crossing...never paid much attention to it or let dictate my hunt.
You need to look at total mass not animal numbers....here we have all kinds 75-100 lbs does....7 or 8 of those probably eat the same amount as 1 cow elk.
OP order up the regs book from WY...or print it out...Put in on the back of your shitter...read some of it every morning...once you understand the regs you can start looking at JCRs, ect.
300 wm 26 to 24..its on the block to go to 20" shortly didn't want to take to much too fast and mess up the CG
A braked 300 winmag is last rifle I would use for hunting. Scares everything into the next county when u shoot and the muzzle flash at sunrise/sunset is horrible. No to mention the...
MEAT grinder works well...dont waste your time with a 5lb stuffer, it works but sucks to have to keep reloading it...get a 10lb...a summer sausage is almost 3lbs..so you get the picture.
Not trying to stop a fellas from buying another gun but, I would spend about half that get some reloading gear and load up some hammers...you can find what you need used maybe save even more...
Had Wiem for 12 yrs they are smart and hard headded...he is training you...put his food down and don't give him any treats....after a day or so he wil eat it. At most pour a little water on it if you have to.
I tried both for 2 years...Gohunt maps are wrong...they don't show correct property lines for public/private, ect plus its just hard to look at...Most of the states I hunt the GW uses onx so that's what I use.
Definitely fewer cripples...need to run a metal detector over them to be sure to get all the shot out when cleaning...crowns aren't cheap these days...
Black cloud #2s 3"
I do have the Carlson black cloud choke set mostly use mid range except on big water/sound use long range choke a nd 3.5" #2s for divers.
I did get some of those fancy Boss shells #2 and #3 mixed last year..haven't used any of them yet...
